Re: Recommendations
Easy. Banyan and Black Mountain with a choice of others which is best to get recommendations at the time.
Re: Recommendations
Played Black Mountain 2 years ago and they were re modelling the finishing holes. Take it they have completed this?
Many thanks have heard good things about Banyan

Re: Recommendations
Black Mountain has held some major tournaments and is probably the best which is reflected in the price. Banyan also good and by June the rainy season should have arrived which is why it is best to ask when you are here as rain will make a difference as to which of the other courses to play and by talking to other players you will get an idea of which course you will enjoy more.
Re: Recommendations for 3 best golf courses
Will do. Thanks for the help
Re: Recommendations for 3 best golf courses
Black Mountain remodel EVERY low season. Check out what is going on before you play. Last year several holes were being remodelled and there were stacks of heavy machines grinding away all over the course.
Re: Recommendations for 3 best golf courses
Best courses - Springfield, Banyan and BMG. Springfield is having some renovations on A course, C replaces it and its pretty tough - some groups here will play B twice when its in play. Personally I think its great, never shot a decent 9 hole but the shots you have to hit are challenging and if you make one its worth the pain!
Re: Recommendations for 3 best golf courses
JW, I fully agree with you about the 'C' course. Yes it is tough but isn't that a good reason to play it ?
Surely it's better to try than take the easy route and play 'B' twice !!

Re: Recommendations for 3 best golf courses
For me Black Mountain is too pretty pretty, overrated and expensive, Banyan is much the same and a poor challenge of golf off the white tees.. I would go for Seapine, looks innocuous but the wind really changes it, Majestic is in great condition and has a great variety of holes final course could be Springfield.

Just discovered there is a big amateur tournament on the week we arrive. Mainly playing Banyan, Black Mountain and AN Other. I am sure we will enjoy whatever we play. Cheers
Re: Recommendations for 3 best golf courses
Agree with you Condoking, BMG overrated, practise facility is awesome, F and B excellent, golf course in amazing condition but the layout has to many blind pins and slopey greens for my liking, must say I enjoy it for scrambles. I do give huge appreciation for what the guys at BMG have created and what they have done for HH and actually Thailand in terms of golf appeal.
Banyan is weak from the fronts, blues and tips.. different animal.
Sea Pines - never liked the fairways... probaly cause i never found any, also it still feels very young and not very pretty to the eye.
Majestic, always loved the courses but havnet played since they got it back in shape.
To be fair we are really spolit for golf!!

Banyan and Black Mountain, then a trip up to Ratchaburi to play the Royal.

Always love having a round of golf at black mountain as it is a risk and reward course.
Re: Recommendations for 3 best golf courses
If you mean you like a course where there are a number of greens where the pin is hidden, then I cannot agree with you. Otherwise the risk and reward senario is no different to some other courses in the HH area, yet you have to pay a larger GF.wrighty wrote: Always love having a round of golf at black mountain as it is a risk and reward course.
The course condition and facilities are excellent , but there are other choices around at better value IMO.

But if money was no option would you consider Black Mountain the best followed by Banyan or not?
