Dragon Hills and Royal Ratchaburi

Later this year a few of us are looking to play Dragon Hills and Royal Ratchaburi with overnight stay in the region. Any suggestions for accommodation appreciated. Would like to be near restaurants/bars.

Also interested re information on condition of these courses, green fees etc and any other useful info for first timers

Can't help you with accommodation other than I've stayed at the DH's associated hotel before which is just down the road from the course. That was comfortable but very quiet - -we were the only three people staying there that night and there's nothing in the way of bars or restaurants in the vicinity - it's really in the middle of nowhere.
Hopefully, someone else can point you in the right direction for accommodation in Ratchaburi itself which has to be more lively.
I've played RR recently and it's always in excellent condition. Definitely one of my favourite courses. Green fee and caddie is 690 THB weekday and 1090 THB weekends. Havn't been to DH for some time but it's also a great course, probably a bit more difficult than RR. From memory, green fee and caddie was 640 THB for a weekday. It's always been in good condition when I've been there although havn't visited DH for a couple of years.
FYIm there's another course up there, close to RR, namely Panarangsi which is on a military base. Played it at the end of last year. A great layout and all was in good condition except for the greens which were pretty terrible. If they've improved the condition of those (and they have been good in the past), then it's also well worth playing with fees around 650 THB incl caddie.
It's probably worth taking a look at the courses' web sites to see if they're running any low season promotions - especially DH. Sometimes you get lunch thrown in as well and a slightly lower green fee.
I'd play the courses during the week. Weekends, especially at RR, will get busy - I should think.

Thanks for the info. Very much confirms what I had heard about the courses. The fees seem very reasonable compared with courses in Hua Hin

Have found several options for accommodation by googling but not knowing the general area not sure what might be suitable to meet restaurant/bar requirements of a few boys on a golfing getaway. Hopefully someone can point me in the right direction.

Anyone have any updates on accommodation and beers after playing at RR, close by would also be acceptable. Don't want to stay in a hovel and drink in a shite hole. Planning going early October.
