Doesn't look like it from their website; http://www.theroyaltrophy.com/site_2011 ... ation.html

The course itself may lay on a few minivans though - pickup/drop off is usually Market Village so I would enquire there first.

Saw a commercial for this event on tv today in the UK. Exciting! I went to the Masters once and it was fun. Didn't fully appreciate how good the courses are in Hua Hin:)

Asia might think they have the upper hand over Europe as hosts for this week's Royal Trophy but they will be hard pressed to match Johan Edfors's knowledge of the course after his latest property purchase.

The 35-year-old Swede will be enjoying home advantage of a different kind having splashed out on a plush villa at the Black Mountain Golf Club in Thailand's Hua Hin, the new venue for the annual matchplay contest.

"It's definitely an advantage and you have to make sacrifices for your team," Edfors joked.

He said he had been in Thailand since arriving for his honeymoon on Dec. 6 and has had ample time to become familiar with the fairways at Black Mountain, the newest course in a beach town at the centre of a golf boom in the kingdom.

"I fell in love with Black Mountain when I played there, they took great care of me, I really like the course," he told reporters on Wednesday ahead of his third Royal Trophy appearance.

"I really like the place. The Swedish winters are pretty cold, it's good to get away from all that."

The fifth edition of the Royal Trophy runs from Friday to Sunday and features foursomes, fourballs and singles matches.

Kicked off already today at 11, looks like its Asia versus Sweden so I'll be cheering the Asian team on! Doesn't seem like the RT website has live scores.

Looks like the Europeans 'bagged it', but only just, with 9-7 victory in the full spirit of the game.

Yes it was a fantastic 3 days competition, really enjoyed watching the pro's. It went down to the wire also.

Ditto the above.
I was only there yesterday and it was a great day. Having watched a few pro tournaments in the UK before - namely the British Open and the World Matchplay Championship - I thought that The Royal Trophy benefited from the right crowd numbers. It was easy to follow games and to be close to the players. That might not last if the competition continues to be a success, but I'm glad I went to this one.
The organisation was professional, the course in superb condition and the "game" went down to the wire as mentioned. However, Europe didn't lose a singles game yesterday and I shan't forget Montgomerie's speech at the end basically saying that after Saturday he hadn't bothered to prepare a winning acceptance.
Lasly, there are some things that stick in my mind this morning. When I get around to playing Black Mountain, I have to try and conserve some energy for the climb up the 15th hole. I'm useless compared to these pros. The Heineken girls are drop dead gorgeous. The price of a large can of the beer was great at 80THB. And I've got a hangover.
