HHAD - FUN GOLF DAY 2009
All cool and calculated I'd imagine!lomuamart wrote:
Buksi again with his approach to the island green on the par 5 18th - after at least one ball in the water. His last effort was amazing - topped from about 100 yds, the ball did ducks and drakes over the water, hit the concrete siding and somehow managed to end up on the green. He actually was turning away in disgust until two caddies said he'd made it.

Well also got a game in at 2.15pm kick off finished about 18.30. Never seen so much sand at a golf course and that's where I played most of the day. Three times took me 2 shots to get out once 3 times. Highlight Birdie at par 5 12th hole. Lowlight score 115
Hope to get my act together next time and join you all. Must have been pretty hot at 12.30 till about 3.00 as yesterday was a scorcher early on.

Sounds a good idea to start something like this for guys and ladies who do not play so regular.
I used to play with a group of guys (normally upto 16 people) in Sydney most Saturday afternoons and I can assure that that abilities were much the same as the group that you played with.
We used to play stableford on all holes, nearest the pins on 2 of the par 3's (hardest 2) and longest drive on the hardest hole on the course.
We used to put in $5 a head towards the prizes at the end of the day.
The prize pot was then divided amongst the actual winner on the day plus the 2 nearest the pins and longest drive.

With the par 3's if no one got on the 1st green chosen, then the prize for that one doubles up on the next.
With the longest drive, the ball had to be on the fairway.
If either of those prizes were not won, they go to the next weeks game and we had double prizes on what was not won
Know one really bothered who won the money unless one person won most of it (then it was his shout at the bar), it was a day out with the lads and a few beers afterwards.
I tend to like playing golf with those sort of groups rather than the more serious golf societies that I could have joined in with because I prefer a day out and a laugh rather than a more serious game where you feel bad if you hit a bad shot.
Continue on with it slowly and I am sure that you will probably attract a few more people who like to play once in a while but do not want to be involved in a serious club enviroment.

Yes it was a good day, plenty of sun, sangrila & well not really golf but more like hide & seek! In our 4 ball two of us spent quite a lot of time in the trees with young female caddies looking for our balls, the other two seemed to spend a lot of time on the green playing with each other whilst waiting for us! A couple of times Sam the marshall came to apologise for the 4 ball in front being so slow, said he had never seen players take 4 to get on the fairway before, we pretended we did not know who they were! and anyway one of our 4 needed to stop at each drinks stop, he seemed to think there was not enough of them! Some good drives were hit, a lot of bunker practice was completed, so many balls headed straight into the wet stuff we are now surfing the net for balls with outboards, but in amongst the laughter and tears there was some genuinely good golf, some surprising fairway shots and many long puts were holed. My only complaint, the score cards were not designed to accomodate my score!!! Looking forward to the next outing, Banyan today, Plam Hills thursday, San Paulo friday.
Sounds more like a Bintablock party than a round of golf!two of us spent quite a lot of time in the trees with young female caddies looking for our balls, the other two seemed to spend a lot of time on the green playing with each other
My brain is like an Internet browser; 12 tabs are open and 5 of them are not responding, there's a GIF playing in an endless loop,... and where is that annoying music coming from?
Hmmm .... what were you hiding?clive wrote:Yes it was a good day, plenty of sun, sangrila & well not really golf but more like hide & seek! In our 4 ball two of us spent quite a lot of time in the trees with young female caddies

fun golf day
Sorry guys, did not check the site again until today sorry we missed out, but will try to make it if another date is set for a "rematch"
played Royal Rachaburi for first time today, and it is a very nice layout. Too bad they have just punched and sanded most of the greens, although they were rolling fairly true and fast!!

Cheeky bugger that Clive, slow 4 ball in front !! we never saw anybody behind us, we only saw our female companion yards ahead of us !! mind you I would rather look at her ahead of us than the 4 sweaty lumps huffing and puffing around the first 9 holes behind us, until the buggy magically arrived for the back 9. I think Springfield gave then the buggy FOC as they were worried the Ambulance that would have been required would have caused too much damage to the fairways on the back 9 !!
There is only two things wrong with a woman, her face !
Oi - that's mrs buksi you're talking about there, and yes, she crucifies me at golf also - why do you think I magically ended up in the other group (didn't catch the lead ball on the first tee did ya)beachyhead wrote:we only saw our female companion yards ahead of us !! mind you I would rather look at her ahead of us than the 4 sweaty lumps huffing and puffing around the first 9 holes behind us,
