Mislaid Registration Documents

Post by Big Boy »

It's time to tax my car again. I've asked my wife who doesn't trust me to look after any documents for the Blue/Green book (can't remember the colour - I only see it once a year). As usual, she's put it somewhere safe - we've looked everywhere, but it's very safe.

Does anybody know the procedure to obtain a replacement document please?

Panic over, it was in with her life insurance policy :?

I'll let the thread run anyway. It could be good information for next year. I'm sure I'm not the only one who has a caring wife that makes sure I don't lose stuff :banghead:

Sounds to me like an expensive brown envelope coming up. :rasta:

Do you have a photocopy of it in the car? You are supposed to keep it in the car, but the BIB will usually accept a copy.

LOL

I've been told definitely don't keep it in the car as any thief can use it as an aid to sell the car on.

Yes, I have heard that numerous times. Good luck telling that to one of those BIB that seem to take a dislike to you!
A photo copy is cheap insurance.

Hua Hin police are fine - never have a problem with them.

I've had several nasty BIB encounters outside of Hua Hin - never been asked for registration documents. However, a photocopy will only take a minute - which parts do I need to copy? Apart from my name, it's all gibberish to me.

As you have been the only owner pages 4 and 5 should be enough. Add the front cover if you really want to impress.
