thanks for that link,

but sometimes it looks that the songthaews (white/red Line2) is serving very bad and very unreliable

And what happens to those if the law barring anyone riding in the back of a pickup ever sees the light of day?

I'm pretty sure I read that songthaews are exempt. Can't find the source though. Then there are the "taxis" that are really just pick-ups with benches and a carryboy style cover.

Totally crazy if true. It's a dangerous practice unless it isn't.

I doubt they would ever make songthaews adhere to that law. It would put the entire city of Chiang Mai totally without taxi service.
My brain is like an Internet browser; 12 tabs are open and 5 of them are not responding, there's a GIF playing in an endless loop,... and where is that annoying music coming from?

If they exempt 'baht buses' then anyone with a pick-up just needs to put a frame on the back and he can carry on. Absolute nonsense and would make a mockery of the proposed law.
I do doubt that this law will ever happen because of it's wide-sweeping content.

Songthaews means the modified trucks on fixed routes picking up passengers like buses in more developed lands, or even Bangkok. Baht buses in Pattaya.

Getting back to the OP, I think the routes have changed for at least 2 of the services. The Surround City and Makro services seem to do what they want at the Southern end of their routes.

Doesn't affect me, but maybe that route that goes to Huay Mongol will be altered to include the new immigration office.
But then, that would be too logical, so probably never happen!
