Honda Automobile (Thailand) is recalling another 234,819 vehicles manufactured between 2011 and 2013 for replacement of the driver's seat front airbag inflator made by Takata.
The announcement, extending the range of models, brings the total number of Honda vehicles recalled by the company in Thailand to about 700,000 units.
A company official said only about 350,000 car owners had so far brought their vehicles in for airbag replacement at any of its 219 dealers nationwide.
For the new announcement issued on Tuesday, the models affected are.
- 2012-2013 Honda City
- 2012 Honda City CNG
- 2012-2013 Honda Jazz
- 2013 Honda Jazz Hybrid
- 2012 Honda Jazz (model imported from Japan)
- 2011 Honda CR-V
And then there is this:
One customer who owns a 2006 Honda Civic and had earlier received notification from Honda told the Bangkok Post she had taken her car in for the replacement, but was informed by the dealer the part was not available. The woman, who asked not to be named, said the dealer told her she would be contacted later when the part was in stock. She is still waiting.

Never have wanted Airbags in any of my vehicles. Them things are dangerous and costly when activated. Just wear seat belts and no need for airbags that can explode and cause harm.
