Post by Foodie »

I don't know how current this is, it's not something I look for. There used to be a shop offering driving instruction as you cross the crazy railway crossing on Soi 70, and head down towards the pork wholesaler (Soi 68 I would guess).

I saw a sign for a driving school last week, it was at the west end of Soi 94, after soi 94 takes a 90 degree turn to the north, and roughly half way down this straightaway that eventually turns 90 degrees to the east to become soi 88. I'm not sure if this stretch of road is a continuation of Soi 94 (heading north) or a continuation of Soi 88 (heading south) or some entirely different Soi name. Driving north, The sign was at street level, on the left. I noticed it because it had pictures of 5 or 6 traffic road signs on it.

Your description Jesse, put the driving school not far from where I live. When I was out this morning, I kept an eye open for it. I found it, but the place looked derelict. It was about 100 yards North of Hua Hin Wittayacomp School.

I think there is a driving school directions as follows: take Hua Hin 70 from the crossroads, cross the railway and the road changes to Khao Hin Lek Fai Road (goes Elephant Village and PalaU) after about 300 metres the road turns right. At that junction go straight onto Khao Hin Lek Fai Road 2 (as if you were driving up the road to Hin Lek Fai Fire Lookout. the driving school is on the right. Tel 0952505968

Big Boy, I passed by there again today, stopped and noted a couple of handwritten notices on the door. The first said "closed for 1 month", the second said " closed 4 June until 8 July". I was quite proud of myself for being able to read the Thai and understand it, I guess 3+ years of Thai language lessons is paying off ;) That's all I know about that business, just what I've read from the signs.

What is the name of that street ?

LOL, I live off that road, and I don't have a clue what its called.

I actually meant to post here again, and forgot  . I went past again today, and the outer shutter door was up, so there is definitely movement there (not derelict as I first thought). I envy you clever guys who are mastering the language - well done.
