What happens when you cross a Bentley R with a Nissan Tiana?

Post by Bluesky »

Travelling back from from Bangkok to Hua Hin yesterday and glanced in the rear view mirror and couldn't quite work out what the vehicle was about 10 cars back trying to weave its way through the traffic. Thought it was possibly an early Jag, Roller or Bentley. Got another glance as it changed lanes again and realized I was incorrect on all counts! Turns out it was a Mitsuoka Galue.

Horrible bastardisation of an iconic look. The fact that Top Gear actually featured one in an episode they did in Japan for what is considered a kit car is a sacriliege

I love it when people such as the top gear hosts, known for being disrespectful, mocking, over the top, etc., do a straight faced report on something as WTF as this car.

Seems the based the proportions of the cars nose on recent and current American full sized pickup trucks. Equally ridiculous.

I'm surprised to see that they have a dealer in the UK:

Yes, I thought I'd seen a new Morgan in Hua Hin a couple of weeks ago, and I know others who saw the same car, and commented about the Morgan they'd seen. However, seeing this sports convertible, I'm not so sure it was a Morgan.

Yep, a white one has been parked in Soi 94 a couple of times, just past Amara resort, I didn't see any badges on it so I looked at One2car.com to identify it.

I was doing the post lunchtime lap around market village and saw possibly the same car in white which bore similarities from the front of a Jag XK120 parked on the eastern end of the ground floor car park. Could possibly another of these take offs from Mitsuoka called a Himiko.
May well be what Pagey saw also.

That Himoko costs £53,800 in the UK so they're not exactly cheap.

Yes - looked at the site and costs.... I'll stick with my little MG - and I mean little, it's a Midget! Suitable for the LHG, although she can't drive it ( ), but not for the likes of BB!!

I had an MG Midget for a while in the eighties, I was based in deepest Cornwall at the time and on those small, high walled lanes, the smaller the car, the more chance you had when something came the other way on a blind bend.

It was which is what I meant by saying I had to look at One2car to identify it as I had never seen one or heard of Mitsuoka before and it never had an identifying badge that I noticed anyway. A couple of recent secondhand ones at 2 mill Baht on the One2car website.
