Not sure whole told you that, but 50 series tyres are regarded as low profile.

The following link has some useful comments. Also raises the point of how changes may affect your insurance. Probably not a problem here, but in the UK and Australia you had better make sure that your insurance company agrees with you.

Hopefully insurance in thailand arn't so picky about everything like in the uk
