Vehicle Inspection, Petchkasem Road

Driving home from the vet hospital this morning there was a road block on the Northbound Carriageway, just before Condo Chain.

The road block was not manned by police, but by quite a hefty team of 'Inspectors'. I was stopped, but waved on again before my window was down, so I've no idea what it was all about.

Anybody got any idea who these 'Inspectors' were, or what they are looking for?

Maybe they were on their way to Bangkok and ran out of cash.

There's a bit on Thai news at the moment about the same inspections taking place in Bangkok as well.

They're checking vehicles road road worthiness - I guess it's re-assuring that I was waved on so quickly

Noticed on Thai news this morning they were stopping many taxis checking licences etc,no idea where this was.

That sounds similar to the report I saw, but apparently it was general road worthiness as well.

I came through there about 11-00 am and they had a big tourist bus and several taxis / song whatever bailed up. They were either looking for somebody, or just making sure everybody had their seat belts on. ( )

different subject. last night they had Petchkasem Road blocked in the south bound lanes and taking all traffic to the north bound side.

they were working on the new overpass from bluport to the intercontinental. massive support posts.

at first i thought i had been caught up in a police road block. i look like a hells angel on my 125 click scooter. just the type they are looking for.

you know some women and babies were killed last week near HH by a truck. maybe they are reacting to that.
any of these "no brakes sorry" they can get off the roads the better.
