We stayed at Eastiny Place on soi 7, nice room and breakfast for about 1500, also secure parking for the bikes under the hotel. I’m sure there are folks around that could make other recommendations of decent hotels for less dosh, as I am not too familiar with Sin City!
The event is staged at Silverlight Vineyard 23 km south of downtown Pattaya… Directions are:
14.3 mi, 23 min driving, Turn left onto 3 / Thanon Sukhumvit go 10.0 mi, Turn left to 1003 go 4.0 mi, Arrive at SilverLake Vineyard on the right, The last intersection is Rural Road 5010 If you reach 331, you've gone too far.
I think a leisurely departure around 11 am to noonish on Sunday will allow return to Hua Hin prior to dark, as there is no construction on the Bangna-Trat road coming this way, and including a lunch break in Phetchaburi we made the return trip in about 5 hours.
Hope some of you can make it, should be a good time!!
Tom

The above should read "Silverlake Vineyard". Here is link and others if you Google, perhaps with a better map. Pete

I would be cautious about the old Rt #3 that runs along the coast. I haven't driven it in a few years but I don't think upgraded from almost all 2 lane with soft, sloping sand shoulders. As you know with most two lane roads you have crazy passing going on left and right....and traffic does get heavy as you get near and in the Samut Prakan area. Could be an enjoyable ride, just need to stay sharp. Pete

The numerous construction detours onto the business access road (10 or more as I recall) also with 1/2 km lines of creeping cars and large trucks was a real pain. Filtering thru not a lot of fun with the Thai drivers making 2 lanes into 3 or even 4 at times. I probably still go for #3 on the trip to Chonburi, (and travel a little more cautiously) as mentioned the way back on Bangna-Trat was clear sailing. Thanks for the heads up Pete...:-)

Hi Tom,
just to confirm - you want to leave Saturday morning and return Sunday? The link you sent mentioned 15/16th which is not the weekend. Just a bit confused.
Do you want to leave at 08:00? What about a meeting place? How about parking up at the temple car park beside the clock tower at say 07:30 and grabbing a caffeine shot at Starbucks prior to departure? Anywhere is fine for me as long as it's easy to find (centralish). Still finding my bearings around H.H.
I have panniers, tank-bag and a handlebar-mount G.P.S. but I haven't setup the G.P.S. yet (brand new from the U.K.).
Soi-8 beach road is fine for me, I've stayed in the Eastiny and both Flippers before.
So that's a definite yes from me now
Can we get a yes from Buksida??????

Oii I booked the wrong night ! Yes leave saturday am the 16th!!! Return Sunday. Starbucks clock tower sounds good as anything. 8 am for introductions and java. I will eat breakfast at home, we can grab lunch near the ferry or in Chonburi. Fuel up and check air pressures etc. so we can leave town around 8:30. Everyone take care of their own hotel booking please.

Hopefully you'll get lucky and it won't happen. At the moment it's overcast and humid but I don't see any thunderheads or very dark skies approaching from anywhere. Good luck and enjoy. :thumb: Pete
