Good turn-out Buksida :)

Anyone attempted a two-wheeled visa-run to Ranong? I might have to venture down in 1 week.

Cheers,
GN.

Is your helmet painted to look like a skull, or it is just the light (or my eyes) ?

On Friday last week I rode my CBR250 from Hua Hin to Kanchanaburi following the main roads.
I stopped off in Ratchaburi for the afternoon, then on to Kanchanaburi. Stayed a night there, then back to Hua Hin the next day.
On the return journey I rode on back country roads from Tha Muang and just followed my nose to a place just outside Ratchaburi via Chom Bueng, nearly got lost and took a few wrong turns (one important sign had fallen over).
All in all, a nice wee trip!

Thank God for that... I was getting worried my eyes had gone off.
Any chance of a photo of your helmet (fnaar, fnaar).
I like those oddball helmet designs, maybe a few more of these in Thailand (one that made you look like Caribou or a girl from the Lakorns) might make folk wear them more often.
Here's a few good (and odd) ones.

If there are any riders that fancy a road trip in the next couple of weeks please drop me a PM.

I like the idea of a northern loop taking in all of the places that don't get featured much in the Lonely Planet such as Chainat, Utaithani, Pichit, Loei, Nong Bualamphu etc.

Took another ride to some local beaches and temples, sadly these pristine spots were covered in trash ...

Hey Ninja of Ginga! :)

Had a bit of time to buzz the bike, but due to a whole range of reason's the Storm Child - CBR 400 is up for sale!

It's going for 75,000 baht with GREEN BOOK :)

If you want location protocols / selling area let me know and I'll buzz you the details.

In the meantime, here's an appraisal of the bike.

Yes.

If you are going on the main pier longtails to get across the Burmese water border then take your helmet with you for protection against the sun and thieves...

Anyone heading over to Pattaya for the biggest bike week party in Thailand happening this weekend?

http://bigloudrides.com/customized-tour ... -15-16-feb

I'm going on my new (used) Yamaha Fazer 1000.... Found easy way to get there without passing thru any of the busy areas of Bankok. Bought the bike in Pattaya. It takes a bit longer going to Patters as there is a lot of construction on the Bangna - Trat surface road. Might try the coast road (Hwy 3) from other side of river to near Chonburi, probably less traffic and more interesting scenery. Leave Saturday morning back Sunday afternoon.

I been riding for 50 years but can still have some fun when the twisties show up!!

Cheers Tom (send PM for phone # or post back here)

Hi Tom,
thanks for the post, great to find another biker on the forum.
I'm going to give you a tentative yes.
Can you please come up with an itinerary and post on this thread for all to see. Also some recommended accommodation ideas...
Hope some others can join.

Cheers,
Ginjaninja.

Hi again… Well no ‘set’ itinerary. When I went to complete the purchase of the Fazer in Pattaya, my friend drove me down on his FJR 1300 Yamaha, and we came back the next day. Easy 2 day trip.
We left HH at about 8 am, and due to a LOT of construction on the Bangna-Trat surface road, the trip there including a lunch break in Chonburi, took about 8 hours!! Long time for around 350 km. I would probably take Hwy. #3 from the other side of the ferry at Phra Predang to Chonburi this time. I’m sure there would be much less traffic, and it would be less stressful, more scenic and more interesting (curves ect) as it follows the gulf coastline.
MORE TO COME....
