Usually the failure of the oxigen sonar is a precursor of massive failure. The flaffle valves will probably all be out of alignment.Very common on the old Accord apparently.

I would take a sample of oil ( usually collected by the dipstck ).
Around 5cc will be plenty.
Take this to the Honda dealer and ask them to check for flaffle flange residue.
They will probably refuse as they will not want to check for the component and claim it is not a problem they are aware of.
Be firm it is your car. I think you will be surprised.

And this is a big problem ? Expensive to resolve ? Because the car is in a very good condition apart the oxygen sensor.

Johan, you are being "wound-up" by a couple of smart arse posters.

If the oxygen sensor, also called a "Lambda" sensor, has failed the engine will run "rich" by default. It will use excessive fuel, and not perform as it should. The sensor is in the exhaust pipe and monitors the oxygen level in the exhaust gases. It`s output signal is fed to the ECU, or the engines electronic control unit, which then adjusts the fuel mixture being fed to the engine.

If an engine is run too "lean", ie. not enough fuel in the mixture, there is a possibility of damaging the exhaust valves. Even if that were to happen, it would not show up in any "test" of the engine oil.

Just go and enjoy your new car and do not worry about it.

Johan, since you're new to this game here you may have already noticed, and read on here, that driving in Thailand is unique, to put it nicely. Make sure you have good insurance before you venture out. I would recommend 1st class insurance which just about covers everything, to a degree. The cost is around 20,000 +- per year. You can get the bare minimum insurance demanded by the government for less than 1,000 per year, but it's really only limited liability concerning bodily injury I believe, and won't cover anything on your car or the car/MC you may happen to run into. Talk to a good insurance agent down there to understand the different levels of coverage. Pete

I have the first class insurance, it's 19.900 per year. I took some lessons in Thailand too, Bangkok and Hua Hin, i'm ready. I also have my french license and thai license, it's the more difficult in the world to obtain, the level is pretty high to pass the test.

They will deliver the car Tuesday normally.

Screwdriver - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
There is no such thing as a "left-handed screwdriver", as the device can easily be wielded in either hand.

Well, the left handed screwdrivers doesn't exist too... :rasta:

Now you are confident the car is running okay. When you get the oxygen sensor fitted why not get one of these to ensure that engine oil leaks and bothersome filters and oil changes are a thing of the past.
I believe this could make your engine the talk of the town if you have it professionally fitted. I could not see a good mechanic charging more than a few hundred Baht

Modern synthetic oil is very expensive - so why run the risk of getting it dirty by running it through your motor block? KaleCoAuto bypass kit comes with everything you need to run the oil around your motor block where it will do more good. Oil runs cooler, and as a result, there may be horsepower gains!
