Proposal for a High School in Hua Hin

Post by educate31 »

***INFORMATION EVENING FOR PROPOSED NEW HIGH SCHOOL***
***WEDNESDAY 9TH DECEMBER, HILTON HOTEL, 7.30PM***

Hi All,
I am a parent of a child of school going age living in HH. I am thinking ahead in terms of high school (or secondary school) in the not too distant future. I know there are some options already in HH but I am either not convinced about quality or I find the price prohibitive. I want to find out if there are other parents in HH/Cha-am willing to consider a reasonably priced, quality alternative. I propose to establish a high school in the area. This would involve delivering quality tuition in core subject areas towards internationally recognized lower and upper level qualifications (iGCSE), which are acceptable at third level institutions worldwide. An information evening will be held at the Hilton Hotel, Hua Hin, on December 9th (Wed) at 7.30pm to present a proposal, and also to gauge viability. If parents are interested in this option for their kid(s) they should make the effort to come. The viability – and the realization – of this venture will be assessed on turnout and provisional interest shown.

Good proposal but I've decided to send my kids back to the UK for their education when the time comes!

I'm surprised at the lack of replies to this topic. Education in Hua Hin is often a topic of discussion as either not being up to Western standards or too expensive. I would certainly be interested in a few years time but my son is only nursery age at the moment.

Good luck and I hope you garner enough interest on the night.

I believe hua hin international at black mountain will eventually be a high school, expensive? probably on par with Bangkok internationals.
My son is also nursery age and with another one on the way,the cost of higher education will be too much here for both.
I would welcome an alternative cheaper option.
Until then I have embarked on a diploma of ed with a Montessori online school and am also doing two units towards a bachelor of education...if I cant beat the institutions i will join them,or educate them myself.

British boys boarding schools are full of Asian boys sent there by their ambitious, caring parents in order to get a good education--That has to tell you something.

Proposal for a High School in Hua Hin

As you probably already know nanyang there is only one international school in the Hua Hin area and thats the new one, cant remember its name. Others such as Somtawin and Yamsaard may pretend to be proper international schools but theyre not. Somtawin is all about money with no real substance. As for Vithayalai you may as well not send them to school at all if its education youre after. Salesian is a better option.
