Yes another year and another bunch of rules, Hope all you expats have a good time and
stock up on your beverages when the stores allow. Glad I am not there this year as I still
have fond memories of my last soaking. Hope the government and police do not get any
more power in Thailand. Tourists are having a hard enough time to enjoy themselves these
days.

Is the water throwing still going on today? It was fun yesterday but I want to go out and stay dry!

So, what's the story? We are in a country where one of the worst things that can happen is loss of face.

Every year, the government and police impose so many restrictions at this time of year. I've been watching Thai news with Mrs BB, and it's quite clear this year's restrictions have stopped nothing.

So is this a major kick in the teeth for the government/police? Or is it them taking one for the team every year i.e. making the population think they've got one over on them?

It's probably the usual game. Invent new laws and restrictions then ignore enforcing them. That way everybody is happy and no one loses face. Hey, it worked in 1857 why not now in 1957?

Not eveyone took notice of the ban on sexual assault. A few lady’s managed to rub that powder stuff onto my private area. Not that I am complaining.

Mrs BB has Thai News on at the moment, and they're showing celebrations around the country - kickings, shootings, beatings, dead people and seriously injured. It all looks like jolly good fun :?

Well, I went out and about with some kids on my fully loaded Songkran battle saleng on Friday, and as usual, we all had a good time. This year we opted for the main road rather than the klong road as we made our way into town. No water throwing seen on the main road, which is why I chose that route, but once we got into town, it was Songkran, although I do think it was a bit toned down compared to previous years.

Hopefully the Thai people won't allow the generals to take all happiness away from the people.
