Re: Vana Nava Hua Hin City FC 2016
Links to Sunday's 2 disallowed goals. If you watch carefully, you will see the ref/linesmen were cheating/incompetent. Hua Hin players were onside when the ball was played. Yes, I know all Thai refs are incompetent, but there were many other decisions, which make you think it was cheating.

A fair response BB and I completely understand your point.
I too can't understand those who switch teams. Must be quite the boring sport when your heart isn't racing while watching it.
I went to my first Spurs' game when I was six and never looked back (or ahead if we're talking the league table ). I mostly watched Brentford play though as watching their matches cost me next to nothing going along with a few season ticket holders. A Spurs' game once a week simply wasn't financially possible, nor will it ever be.If you've been a Spurs supporter all your life, and used to actually watch them in the flesh, so to speak, then fair play to you. If had a dozen different allegiances in your lifetime, then I pity you - you will never have felt the passion.

So I guess it is OK to split allegiance but only if that allegiance is to the team in the area of which one lives? It all seems very dramatic to me.

I never said that I split teams. I said that I've always been a Spurs' fan but couldn't afford to go every week so... as a 'live football' substitute, I went to watch Brentford (did I say that I supported them in any way - no) and watched the Spurs game on TV.centermid7 wrote:So I guess it is OK to split allegiance but only if that allegiance is to the team in the area of which one lives? I understand that English is not your first language centermid7 but, unless you can fully comprehend a complete paragraph, I'd leave the argumentative retorts to yourself.

Bouncing between TRUE sports channels I often notice Thai football matches on the channel bar entitled "Toyota League". Is this the league that Hua Hin is in? Pete

Re: Vana Nava Hua Hin City FC 2016
No, putting it in England Football terms, Toyota would be the Premier League. Hua Hin City would be in League 1.

Wow!!! 0 - 0 sounds like a boring game. That couldn't be further from the truth. In my opinion, probably the best game I've seen this season. Today's visitors have been averaging 2.4 goals a game, and are the league's leading scorers, having scored 33% more than their nearest rivals. I was expecting a goal fest.
We had 3 new(ish) faces on the pitch today:
- No. 2 Natthapong - I think he was injured in pre-season friendlies.
- No. 39 Suppathok - i think he made a 10 minute appearance at the end of one game this season.
- No. 40 Don't know his name yet - I spotted him on the bench at Nonthaburi, but I think this is the first team he's been on the pitch.
The above 3 guys transformed today's Hua Hin side. The gaps seem to have been filled.
It was a good end to end stuff with both keepers very busy, and both playing out of their skins. The old Shota is definitely back. I think Hua Hin had more shots on target than they've had the rest of the season combined.
One sad note, Patay was taken to hospital. No idea of the outcome yet.
We've now moved into the mid-season break, so no football next week. Our next game is still to be confirmed by the club, but we think it is:

Re: Vana Nava Hua Hin City FC 2016
In the absence of any official announcement from the club about 2nd leg fixtures, we have to assume that the information provided to us by one of the Thai Supporters Associations is correct (I have no reason to doubt them).
They have told us that our next fixture is away at BTU (Bangkok Thonburi University) next Saturday 25th June.
We need to identify who, if anybody would like to travel to the match. We now have a source from within the club who believes he can provide mini buses at substantially lower prices.
As soon as the club decides to inform its supporters where and when the next match is being played, I will post a confirmation here. So if interested, please either PM, or reply to this post.

Re: Vana Nava Hua Hin City FC 2016
Well, I've looked all over Soccerway, and I can't find them Do you have a link please?
Personally, if previous seasons are anything to go by, I would say our next game will be away to Rajapruk. Why won't the clowns club admin release the fixtures!!? Are they afraid somebody might go to watch them play? We know they have the fixtures because when the IPE Samut Sakhon game was switched. the poster had already been printed, and the date amended.
Hua Hin admin claim they are still waiting for the Thai FA.

This post is for the benefit of the people who don't use the Hua Hin City ‘Farang’ Fan Page – Unofficial Facebook page.
The Thai FA have moved the goalposts during the mid-season break, so teams will start playing from corner to corner
Seriously, the changes are actually worse than that, and I feel disgusted that they have been announced midway through a live season, to take immediate effect.
I'll start with the current league structure:
Tier 1 - Thai Premier League
Tier 2 - League 1
Tier 3 - Regional Div 2 x 8
The Thai FA have announced a major shake up, and the league structure will change dramatically for next season:
Tier 1 - Thai Premier League (unchanged)
Tier 2 - League 1 (unchanged)
Tier 3 - The Championship, which will comprise the top 4 clubs from each of the existing Regional Div 2 leagues i.e. 32 teams, split into 2 leagues of 16 teams.
Tier 4 - Regional League Division 2. Teams finishing in 5th place or below in the current Regional Div 2 leagues will be relegated to this division, and take on Semi Pro status. There will be 64 teams split into 4 regional leagues of 16 teams.
Tier 5 - Regional League Division 3. This league is brand new, and will be made up of the bottom team from each of the current Regional Div 2 leagues (double relegation ), plus newly invited teams (still to be named) to the Thai Football League. These teams will all take on Amateur status. There will be 56 teams split into 8 regional leagues of 7 teams.
So if Hua Hin City do not improve drastically in the 2nd half of this season, they are facing relegation to the 4th tier of Thai football, and will take on Semi Pro status.

Tomorrow we get a chance to meet the new squad who will be battling to keep us in the 3rd tier of Thai football.
A friendly match has been arranged with local side Chiva Som. Now, I've never seen Chiva Som play, but I've heard from a couple of sources that they are actually the best team in town, but don't play very often. This could be a big test for our new squad.

Vana Nava Hua Hin City 4 - 0 Chiva Som
This was a mid-season break friendly, hopefully to put our new squad through its paces, and to observe them playing together.
It was easy to spot the new players - none of them had a Hua Hin shirt, and they wore whatever shirt they'd arrived with. One initial shock, one of today's 3 number 4's was a dead ringer for Samuel Lampty, the brick outhouse from our champions year a couple of seasons ago. Spookily, he took up exactly the same position, but we were assured his name was Simon from the Cameroon. If he is half as good as Lampty, he'll be an asset.
Likewise, it was impossible to gauge which players have been axed during the mid-season break. It was possible to pick out a few familiar faces, but Hua Hin are in their 2nd secret squirrel season i.e. training kit numbers rarely match squad numbers.
Today's opposition looked well out of condition, and somebody in the modest crowd actually named them the Pilsbury Dough Boys. However, I had only ever heard good things about them as a footballing side, and they do very well in the annual 11 aside competition here in Hua Hin.
Chiva Som were well outclassed on the day, and it was only a matter of time before Hua Hin's fitness won through, although, to their credit, Chiva Som did have their moments, and were unlucky not to take the lead.
As I said, fitness won through in the end, although by the end of the match, the Chiva Som players were definitely less overweight than several of the Hua Hin players. It was hard to tell from today's friendly how the new players will fare, but there are some big (tall) guys amongst them, although I think a couple of them are probably taller lying down. Getting the new players back into shape could be the manager's first challenge.
Will they save us from this season's stupid relegation? I wouldn't like to say yet, but we've got 11 matches to gain 6 points on the current 4th place. We've just got to hope that we haven't axed some key players.
We'll get a much better idea at Saturday's match at BTU - a must see match.
