Hua Hin Jazz Festival 2015

I remember when it took over the whole town with stages at the railway station, the beach road to HH beach, outside the Hilton and the Sofitel. It was a big event and some of the artistes got to 'jam' at the palace. The first sign of the 'end' was when the main stage was moved to the Intercontinental. A great event that's died a death. No foreign or distant bands are going to attend for ONE night with all that it entails.

Well done HH. Another nail in the 'tourist coffin'.

It was a fantastic festival for the first 3-4 years.

The Tourist Police have announced that this year's festival is back on next week on Saturday 28 Nov 15. I'm not sure of the venue yet, but I'm sure that will be announced very soon. There's even an artists list (2nd image) below.

I hope Hua Hin hasn't shot itself in the foot so many times on this, that it turns out to be a flop. I'm not a Jazz fan, but I'll nip down if I can.

I've just had it confirmed the festival will be held at the beach front of the Hyatt Regency hotel from 17:00 until 24:00 on 28 Nov'15

Prachuab TAT have just announced a 300 Baht admission fee.

If the festival is on the beach, then charging admission is technically illegal. This would be the same as beach chair touts claiming sections of the beach as their own which has been in the news recently.

We should turn it into Hua Hin Rock Festival. Isn't there enough Jazz here already?

A small stage is being erected in front of the the 'Wave' beach front restaurant when I passed about 5 pm. I presume this is for the jazz fest.

Would you believe i just past a sign in Cha-am saying this year the festival is on November 21st.

Have just returned from attempting to walk the beach from central HH to Khao Takieb and only got as far as Chiva Som. In the past, I've seen the sea rougher but today it's pretty lively and there's virtually no beach from The Centara to CS. After that, the waves were pounding the sea walls.
