But chastening defeats against other teams from Arsenal (Under 11s and Under 12s) and Ascot International School (under 13s and Under 16s), show there is still plenty of work to do:

Good to be back with a new Western Thailand Football Academy League season a mere 3 weeks away, but in my absence things on and off the field have been running smoothly and there's certainly a lot of interesting things to report. Nevertheless, we'll go slowly and keep everyone updated as and when time allows. Anyway, for starters, here's most of the team that will be kicking off the new campaign against Tiendud Nakhon Pathom Academy (unfortunately as few missing on the day):

Matches for all Age Groups (U7, U8, U9, U11, U13, U16, Girls, Parents). Schedule to be finalised. First Matches on Pitch 1, Pitch 2 and Pitch 3 will kick off at 10.00
And then down to the nitty-gritty with the league matches:
In the league, we shall again be fielding teams at Under 7, Under 8, Under 9, Under 11, Under 13, Under 16, Girls & Parents Levels.
We believe in quality over quantity and a very, very limited number of places are still available before we reach our capacity of 100 registered players.

It's not just about football with Dusit Thani Hua Hin Football Academy. Since we have a good mix of Thai and non-Thai players and coaches, we are always very conscious of our role in integrating everybody and supporting the community as a whole.
Each year, we offer two completely free Teambuilding activities for all registered players and this year we took the opportunity to organize the first to coincide with Her Majesty the Queen's 83rd Birthday and Thai Mother's Day... and no it wasn't 'Bike for Mum':
A rewarding time was had by all, especially with lunch kindly provided by the hotel, our main sponsors.

MJ United Under 8s, Under 10s and Under 12s from Samut Sakhon provided the opposition for useful warm-up wins in games for the Dusit Thani Hua Hin Football Academy Under 8s, Under 9s and Under 11s at the weekend:
Under8s (won 5 -1) are giving us cause for great optimism ahead of the start of the season:
Well done Under 11s ( won 2 -1) against a physically bigger Under 12 team, with Sam the hero with both goals:
Wins too (and plenty of aches and pains) for our Soccer Mums (10 - 0) and Soccer Dads (4 -3). Time to sort out some proper kit for guys and girls
Learning experience for the Under 9s against the 10-year-old opposition and a good battling performance.
Home friendly matches for all age groups this coming Sunday ( Under 7s, Under 8s, Under 9s, Under 11s, Under 13s, Under 16s, Girls Team, Soccer Mums, Soccer Dads) against strong visitors from Ayuthaya, starting at 10.00. All three pitches to be utilized and a long day is in prospect.

Some notes for those who have asked:
- Matches are usually 7-a-side
- The result after 2 halves is the official result '(guess we should call them 'thirds' or 'quarters' really, but they sound a bit Americanised)
- Third and sometimes fourth 'halves' are always played in the kids' league and friendly matches to ensure that all players who were not selected for the main match get at least one 'half' of football to keep up their interest and motivation.

Dusit Thani Hua Hin is delighted to accept the invitation to compete for the first time in the Phuket Soccer Schools National Tournament from 3rd - 4th October at Thanyapura Phuket Sports Resort, where our teams will also be based.
We will be competing at Under 8 (born in 2007), Under 10 (born in 2005), Under 12 (born in 2003) and Under 14 (born in 2001) levels.
We shall also take our Under 16 team and Girls team along, not just for the ride but to play competitive friendly matches on the Saturday as well as to offer invaluable support to the teams and coaches.
Hopefully, this video of last year's tournament will whet the appetite:
There's some great skills from some of the young kids on show there, so it's sure to be a tough but fantastic learning experience for our boys.
The team will leave Hua Hin early on the Friday morning and return from Phuket on Sunday evening.
