Any Hua Hin CrossFitters??????

Post by DeadPool »

Hi Ladies, Gents,

I moved to Hua Hin in March and have struggled to find a decent place to CrossFit.

I used to go to PowerFit 102, althought this never offered the full CrossFit spectrum and has now unfortunately closed down.

Anybody know a good place to bleed, sweat and cry???

Whew! I was worried this thread was about "cross dressing." OOOPS! Good luck on your search!
Now for the curious and non-gym rats, what is cross fitting?
I wouldn't have to manage my anger if people could learn to mange their stupidity!

Crossfitter
A person who likes to be average at everything, and good at nothing. A person who exercises often, so that they can get better at exercise. Someone who puts in many hours of effort, without understanding the difference between training and exercise.

Important facets of a crossfitter are: self-righteousness (they think they invented barbell training, HIIT and circuit training), conformity (oh, we have to get the £90 reebok trainers and wear pull-up socks? Mkay) and delusion (oh, your warmup is my workout? Really? Do you even lift?).

Most importantly a crossfitter is unable to tell the difference between criticism aimed at an over bloated organisation that promotes under-trained 'coaches' teaching people to complete complex olympic lifts, whilst fatigued, as fast as possible, and themselves.

I LOLed through that. Do you Brits have 'Exercise as Religion and Fashion' cults back home? Converts adhear to The One True Way of exercise until it another, more fashionable One True Way appears.

Crossfit, or more accurately crossfitters, can exercise their way into Rhabdomyolysis, a serious and potentially fatal condition resulting from the catastrophic breakdown of muscle cells.

Most youngsters these days would probably think "ERF" was the name of our planet...

I suppose there are worse addictions than exercise, but I confess I tried gym workouts when I was about 40 (early mid-life crisis) and nearly died of boredom.

^^Don't give up yet, there are plenty (well, at least a few) of forum members who use the gyms.

Welcome to the forum, by the way, Deadpool - hope you have a sense of humour!

Seriously? Crossfit?

Follow a progressive lifting programme like SL5x5 and intersperse with a cardio programme (running, cycling). Watch your macronutrients.

That's it. Don't go in for this hokum. Really, you're going to hurt yourself.

Hi everyone,

Wow, a really one-sided opinion that smashed my CrossFit addiction.

I've been doing various routines now (including heavy lifting) for well over 17 years and have found that CrossFit suits me best. I completely understand that it doesn't suit everybody though.

Beginning to sound like religion.

Well, thanks for the feedback anyway and whatever you're into, have a good one!

I saw a sidewalk sign for a CrossFit gym about a month ago. It's on the west side of Petchakasem road, somewhere around the Shell petrol station. Good luck!
