Sailing 150km South Of Hua-Hin

Post by Expatsailor »

Hello,
I have 6 hobie Cats including the F18 Hobie Wild Cat down to the Hobie Bravo for beginners. My boats are situated on private Beach land with direct access to the sea, good safe area for sailing and a lovely quiet spot for a weekend break away from Hua-Hin, the area has resorts ranging from about 800 baht per night through to the more expensive
I am looking for people that know how to sail and would like somewhere to keep a boat (sailing only) At the moment I do not have time to arrange sailing rentals or teaching, I will move into this once I have more time. This is ideal for keen sailors looking to own their own boat with somewhere to keep it not too far from Hua-Hin. When I get more time i hope to develop the venue into a sailing club. I have been been sailing in this area for a number of years and until now it has been my own private sailing club for my children and myself.

If your interested please reply to the post

I am interested in sailing. I have not sailed for a number of years and do not own a boat in Thailand. Why do you have 6 Hobie Cats? Were you renting boats at some point? Where are you located?

Cheers

Hi, I have not rented the boats out in the past, the plan is to develop into a sailing club once I get enough interest. At the moment I go to work on a 2 month on 2 month off basis so I don't have the time to sort out rentals all of the time. I have lived in Hua Hin for over 20 years and I know people would like to get back into to sailing but there has been nowhere to keep a boat in Hua-Hin. My boats are kept in Ban Krut 150km South of Hua Hin. Due to my work schedule I am looking for people that would like to own their own boat and have a decent place to keep it.
I could rent boats out to people during my time off so people can try out the venue, to get them started off. The problem with this is I am not home all the time.
The boats I have.

Hi Ben

I felt the same about the lack of sailing here and bought myself a Laser and an Optimist for my son. But there is only one regatta a year here (albeit a very good one) and so I decided to start a sailing club. We're nearly ready and it is half way between Hua Hin and Cha Am.

The first 10 Optimists should arrive in the next 10 days and the 4 brand new Lasers in early December.

Should be fun. I know you're a long way south but if you felt like bringing the Hobies to Hua Hin we should be able to store them for you.

Let me know

Cheers Richard

To get to the Sailing Club head out of Hua Hin towards Cha Am. Go past the airport, the Dusit Thani and Sheraton carrying on towards Cha Am. About 6kms from Sheraton you will see the huge DIY store Thai Watsadu on the left. Immediately after is the turning for the Regent Cha Am hotel. Enter the hotel entrance and carry on down the entrance road until just before the hotel you turn left with the building site "Rain" on your left. Go 300 mts up this narrow lane past the Regent Chalets take the next little soi on the right to the Sea Talay and Vimanlay Condos and we are on the beach front there. It's a building site at the moment but give me 3 weeks and it should look great.

If you check out Sailing Club Hua Hin's Facebook page you will see a map with coordinates.
