Hat Sai Noi

Post by lomuamart »

A couple of friends have arrived from the UK today and they'll be in HH next week, for a week.
I'm just trying to think of things to do with them and I know they just want to relax so I am considering a day on Hat Sai Noi.
But it must be around 6 years since I've been down there. Has the beach been destroyed by development in the meantime? Are the beach restaurants still operating? We just want somewhere about 30 minutes away by taxi where we can unwind.
If anyone's been there recently, I'd appreciate a report.
Thanks.

Hi

was down there a month ago, beach hasn't been overdeveloped, you can rent a deck chair for 50 Baht-70 Baht.
Several restaurants serving fresh Thai food/Seafood on the beach.

Lovely spot to relax and unwind.

I find it better to turn right when you get there and hire a sun bed. I didn't eat there last time I was there (a few weeks ago), but the 4 Thai ladies I was with all ordered food and said it was very good.

Yes, although there is now the beach club hotel above part of the beach, it's a single story collection of buildings that doesn't get busy, so it hasn't spoilt the beach as such. The family operating sun beds and Thai food on the beach in front of it is the same one that was there six years ago.

The food at the beach club is excellent, probably a little high end for those of us that live here to use daily, but a nice place to take friends on holiday for a treat.

When I went there you got a day membership card and used this to pay for things, settling up on the way out.

Was there at the beachclub only last week. 3 adults and a child.

We had breakfast and soft drinks through the day. Only one had lunch at the beach club.

We left around 3pm and around 3,500 bht lighter.

Bypassing the beach club would cost a fraction of the price, however the sea always looks too rough to swim in.

The beach club and pools are great, food is pretty average for the price they charge.

Nice spot for an occassion. We will only 2-3 a year I think.

Sod that.

The club and the beach are side by side, but completely different. The beach is as its always been - you do not have to get involved in any way with the club.

Yes, I often go to the beach for a couple of beers and it's the same deal that has always existed there.

Pardon my ignorance, but where exactly is Hat Sai Noi and what's the best route to drive there? :thanks:

Drive to Khao Tao. Turn right at the first temple/start of the lake. Follow that road - it is sign posted.
