Too easy obviously but the baton now passes on.

Well done. Was an interesting fact that there were no bridges prior to one being built near to Manaus in 2011.

A more interesting fact was that at one point in the river the floodplain of the Amazon during the wet season can reach 190 kms wide.

It was a guess, although in all of the documentaries I have seen about the Amazon, I've never seen or heard mention of any bridges. Have to put my thinking hat on regarding a question.

I'm sure this won't be difficult for our travelled friends, what/where is this?

It's Mount Fuji from a perspective I have never seen in real life. The photo however is quite well known.

I've been to Mt Fuji 3 or 4 times but mostly have viewed it from the High Speed Train from Tokyo to Osaka.

I've been half way up Fuji and I can't even begin to think where that photo is taken from, is it meant to be from Tokyo? Curious about this.

Definitely Tokyo - the 'gherkin' like building is 'The Cocoon', the twin towers behind it is the Government Building in Shinjuku and the mountain in front of Mt. Fuji is Mt. Tanzawa

^ As commented above, I've seen Mount Fuji many times but never from that perspective. Like Bristolian, my view has always been from the Bullet Train traveling to/from Tokyo.. Great photo though!! :thumb: :thumb:

I'd love to know how it was done. Fuji is about 80 miles from Tokyo!

The article I read, simply said it was Fuji in the background taken from Tokyo. It's classified as a volcano, although last erupted just over 300 years ago, let's hope it remain dormant.

Not very detailed, but this was the article

Mount Fuji, Japan
Perhaps the world’s most famous symmetrical stratovolcano is Japan’s Mount Fuji, which has served as the muse for many artistic creations through the centuries. “[It’s] the national symbol of Japan: snow-capped, looming in the distance, cherry blossoms in the forefront,” Vaché said. Not only is the mountain itself beautiful and mysterious, but the Aokigahara forest on the northwest base of the mountain also inspires the imagination, as many local folktales describe the demons and goblins that haunt within. At least the mountain itself remains a safe haven – the low risk active volcano hasn’t erupted since 1707.

Ok, several days have gone by since the last post, so I'll ask another question... one for you British expats:

In the western hemisphere lies one of the world's largest bays. It is named after a British explorer who visited the area in the early 17th century. What and where is it?
My brain is like an Internet browser; 12 tabs are open and 5 of them are not responding, there's a GIF playing in an endless loop,... and where is that annoying music coming from?

That's got to be Canada's Hudson Bay.
