The proper function of man is to live, not to exist. I shall not waste my days in trying to prolong them. I shall use my time.

I saw him perform in a small bar in New Orleans when I was young. Later he opened his own place in the city where I grew up. Truly "the" blues legend.

A good slide show of his life (with embedded ads; just skip them).

A legend passes ... played this last night, as good as ever ...

Who is the happier man, he who has braved the storm of life and lived or he who has stayed securely on shore and merely existed? - Hunter S Thompson

Yes - "Riding with The King", was a superb album with 2 of the greatest guitarists and one being the King of the "Blues".....!!

Sad news, but he had a great innings at 89 - R.I.P. B.B, but your music will undoubtedly live on.
