Black Mirror - Season 3
First two seasons of this British show were such a hit on Netflix, they won a bidding war with Channel 4 to make 12 more episodes. First 6 drop Oct 23. Same show runner, so expect the same quality.

My post on Season 2 http://huahinforum.com/viewtopic.php?f= ... 92#p291392

Season 3 announcements. The first one provides brief sketches (without spoilers) of the episodes starting situations. From their intro: Either you’re already obsessed with Black Mirror or you probably haven’t seen it yet. The technology thriller has managed to virally spread into an international cult hit despite producing only seven episodes in three years and having TV’s most notoriously unworkable format: each episode is a self contained story with an entirely different cast.

This one lists who stars in and directs each episode. Talent is not in short supply.

Two U.S. network TV shows new for this fall season look very promising after I watched the 1st episodes...

Designated Survivor, starring Kiefer Sutherland (and many other recognizable stars)

Lethal Weapon, starring Clayne Crawford (Riggs) and Damon Wayans (Murtaugh)

Westworld seems to have potential, but if you're going to download it I would wait until you can get a few episodes at once as the first and second ones are moving along at a fairly slow pace. I watched them both on the same day and wished I had waited until a couple of more came out.

Two new ones that I consider flops that you shouldn't bother with are Macgyer and Bull. even if you were a fan of the original Macgyver, I think you'll be disappointed in the new one and Michael Weatherly should have stayed with NCIS as his new show (Bull) will probably not make a second season.

I still think the best network show so far this season is Designated Survivor with Westworld having the possibility for an upset after a few more episodes.

I'm seriously enjoying Westworld, its definitely one where you want more after each episode.

The Last Kingdom
For those that liked Vikings and Game of Thrones this is right up your alley. Set it 872 AD it tells the story of the Dane/Saxon struggle for the kingdoms of England. Based on some of the fantastic literary work of Bernard Cornwell.

Series one can be fully downloaded.

Based on some of the fantastic literary work of Bernard Cornwell.
If the series faithfully follows the books, it will be a classic. I have read most of Bernard Cornwell books, and they are in a class of their own.

Speaking of Bernard Cornwell, there is also "Poldark", a tad melodramatic with plenty of windswept broody looks out to sea from the clifftops, but quite watchable.
This is the way

I just love poking my nose into other people's lives so This Farming Life is right up my street. The series is filmed over a year and follows variety of Scottish farmers doing what farmers in Scotland do. Mr.VS and I are hooked, and it's an excellent programme to wind-down to after a hard day at work. I particularly like the young couple who are planning to get married, and find it hard to like the rather posh ex. barrister living the hard/good life on a Scottish island.

It's a pleasant, honest programme highlighting the ups and downs of life on a Scottish farm.

"Good Behavior", a new show on TNT is really entertaining after the first two episodes. I think it will be one to watch.

Show summary:

"Letty Dobesh is a thief and con artist who is always one bad decision from implosion. Fresh out of prison, she's attempting to stay afloat. But when she overhears a hit man being hired to kill a man's wife, she sets out to derail the job, sending her on a wild collision course with the killer and into a dangerous and seductive relationship. Good Behavior is based on the Letty Dobesh books by author Blake Crouch (Wayward Pines)."

If attempting to download, don't grab the show by the same name previously aired by ABC... http://www.tv.com/shows/good-behavior/cast/

Just watched Episode 1 of Season 1 - Absolutely fantastic! I do hope that the other episodes live up to the first one. Being stand-alone episodes I can watch the other episodes when I have time, without having to remember what happened before. Right up my street.

Another new series that looks good so far on USA network: Shooter, another series that has the same general plot as the movie with the same name. The first two episodes have aired and it appears to be PVR worthy!

I'm glad you liked it. Stand-alone episodes means you can watch Season 1 and 2 with no spoilers.

This 'show' is on youtube. It's far better than any of the car-build show TV counterparts. Fourteen 20-25min episodes posted over 3 years. I'm not binge watching because there are more episodes to come. Slowly.

Some quotes from the article that lead me to it.

Do car-build shows bother you? Are they too heavy on drama without enough actual building for you? Do you find yourself more interested the actual fabrication than the fabricated drama between mechanics or cast members? Well, two Brits are building the kind of project car that we actually want to see...
...
This is what sets Project Binky apart from most shows: They stop and explain almost every design problem, and then they show you how they solve it. ... Nik and Rich present the project in a near-professional-entertainment-show quality and format, but don’t shy away from showing the details of how the fabrication is accomplished, all without boring you to tears.
...
Nik and Richard have taken on the shamelessly ridiculous task of shoving the drivetrain and suspension from a 1991 Toyota Celica GT-Four, known as the All-Trac Turbo in the US, into a 1980 Mini 1000. As if that wasn’t challenging enough, Nik outlines in the first episode that he intends to drive this thing legally afterward, and wants it to look as much like a lightly-modified Mini as possible.
...
The engineering challenges range from laborious to nearly impossible, and seem to occur without relent. As you might imagine, almost nothing fits within the tight confines of the Mini shell. ... The Celica running gear requires that each component be rethought. The turbo, intercooler, and cooling system are fully redesigned using off-the-shelf replacements in new arrangements and custom mountings.
...
Nik and Rich—I’m calling him Rich now—plan, explain, and execute the solutions with adept skill and a healthy dose of dry, British sarcasm. The result can appreciably be called “fabrication porn.”
