For those that haven't seen it it is about a detective in the hills country and the interesting assortment of people make it worthwhile watch for me!
Good call, migrant! My favourite sheriff, Timothy Olyphant (so very cool - I wonder if that's how he normally walks?), some good backwoods characters and a fair tobacco wad of humour into the bargain. At 13 episodes per series I'm going to enjoy this.

Agreed...Justified keeps getting better. Walton Goggins, ex The Shield, for me holds the show together.

I,m sure that Tim O went to the Clint Eastwood school of minimalistic acting

Damages, starring Glenn Close and Rose Byrne, is another of my current favourites, lots of intriguing story lines and plot twists.http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0914387/?ref_=sr_1

Black Mirror returns for a second season, 3 episodes long just as the first season. Each episode has a different cast, a different setting and a different reality. Critics describe it as a combination of sci-fi, satire and drama. The show's production company described the series as "a hybrid of The Twilight Zone and Tales of the Unexpected which taps into our contemporary unease about our modern world", with the stories having a "techno-paranoia" feel.

Each episode had my complete attention. Recommended. From Ch 4 in Britain.

House of Cards is a political drama of power (both naked and subtle), influence qnd manipulation. Some of the manipulators are blissfully aware they're being used for a higher purpose. You know, Washington DC politics as usual. Kevin Spacy is the lead. Much of the rest of the cast are talented supporting actors from film and TV with long lists of credits.

This is Netflix's first venture into creating content. By all accounts they did quite well. I say 'did' because all 13 episodes were released at the same time. At http://torrentz.eu/search?f=%22house+of+cards%22+2013

:agree:
Every protagonist needs an antagonist. Goggins is a powerful one.

A Sandman TV roundup of stuff Ive been a watchin

RIPPER STREET

Absolutely cracking BBC police drama set in H Division of Whitechapel in the immediate aftermath of the winter of terror in 1888 when Saucy Jack stalked the smoggy streets. Its sort of a "Victorian CSI" stuffed full of great characters, orrible grewsum crimes, and utterly compulsive viewing. The first series has just finished its run and its available at all the usual places for download. A definite three cheers keeper all the way.

CITY OF VICE

More antiquated police drama, this time set in the gang war crime wave that ravaged Westminster during the 1750s, and based on actual historical accounts of true crimes. It covers how the famous Bow Street Runners came to be, the cases they tackled, and the criminals they brought down in wonderful CGI heavy Channel 4 splendor. Regency thief taking at its best, dripping class, and out and about in DVDrips of all 5 episodes. I got mine from the YouTube page at http://www.youtube.com/user/PeriodxDram ... rid&view=1 where you will also find stacks of other top class period drama series.

and doing the rounds later in March we find the much anticipated third series of both THE BORGIAS and GAME OF THRONES, so at least I will have something to watch in my exile along side the cracking continuation of WALKING DEAD's current third series, and the fourth series of BOARDWALK EMPIRE due at the end of the year. The wonderful SHERLOCK and WHITECHAPEL also look like making a re-appearance for third runs during 2013.....truly good things come in threes.

one to keep an eye out for is a historical drama series on History Channel called VIKINGS

Excellent grimy grubby mud and gore stuff about Ragnar Lothbrok that actually educates as it entertains, using factual information such as how Viking law worked and how they navigated to educate while keeping the brain engaged with soap operatic plots and drama and the odd bout of out and out gore splattered head cleaving. Its set in the early expansion period of Viking history when they worked out how to sail west across the North sea and started making life a bit more interesting for the English and Scots, and Christianity was still in its infancy.

Really good stuff and well worth watching - can be found out and about fr download.

Hannibal

Everyone thought it was going to be bad because it's a mid-season replacement and it's on NBC. It's quite good, actually, with far more gore than I remember ever seeing on US broadcast TV.

Two characters from the first of three Hannibal Lecter novels are the show's center. The setting is prior to the first novel. Lecter, obviously, is the same psychotic he was in Silence of the Lambs. He consults for the FBI. Will Graham is a specialists in solving serial killer murders for the FBI. He's a bit unhinged, so he's also a consultant, not an FBI agent. One reviewer said: What will make the series worth watching is the odd relationship between Lecter and Graham, two geniuses in their own right who are engaged in a game of cat-and-mouse in which we're not sure who's doing the meowing and who's nibbling on the cheese. Graham's boss, well played by Lawrence Fishburn, is a standout supporting character.

Based on one episode this series will be the cat and mouse game between Graham and Lecter, with Graham not knowing he's working with a serial killer. Each episode will put these to on the same case where they conveniently solve the murder in 48 minutes. That part was faintly ridiculous in episode 1 but will be easy to overlook if Grapham vs Lecter vs the other serial killers continues to be first rate.

Premiered this week. New episodes air on Tuesday.

DA VINCI'S DEMONS

Just watched the first episode of this new series covering a very fictional version of Leonardo as a young man. Enjoyed it and will keep watching but haven't decided just how good it is yet. What I have decided is that Laura Haddock is a stunner!

My son had me download Noel Fielding's Luxury Comedy Season 1 recently, which he says is hillarious. I haven't tried it yet.

Glad you like it Buksi.... I think its a cracker despite it getting a poke or two off the critics.

anyways....what else do we have?

HANNIBAL - well cool, warming up nicely..... my guess is someone on the team was a MILLENIUM fan tho. :D

THE BORGIAS - season 3 is back with a vengeance quite literally as the shadowy war of assassins between the Borgias and the Italian aristos led by Lady Svortza warms up.....and now Cesare is podging his sister! Yerk!

YOUR PRETTY FACE IS GOING TO HELL - oddball corporate office comedy set in Hell.... yup... looks like its going to be a cult classic

GAME OF THRONES.... yes it is a modern classic and one of the best dramas on screen at the mo... but Im starting to find it a wee bit too choppy as the half dozen separate plot arcs flail around. Shades of CLOUD ATLAS here.

ZOMBIELAND - proof that sometimes even a great film can be ruined by some Hollydud doofus thinking they can turn it into a series, but avoid employing the original cast that made the film what it was. Going down faster than a lass in a Tijuana blow job bar. Avoid :tsk:

DEFIANCE - good looking sci fi soap drama but already there are worrying hints of cliche ridden hack a second V and preachy Trekkie nonsense. Could go either way, but nice on the eyes. :|

ELEMENTARY - a US reboot of the Sherlock Holmes canon with a drug addled ex junkie Johnny Lee Miller as Holmes and Lucy Liu as a politically correct female Watson - not a patch on SHERLOCK but good watching for Holmes fans.

+1

Second most-watched show in the US among men 18-34. Audience has grown each season as the word gets around. It's delightfully twisted. How twisted? Enough so this character seems normal:

From Wikipedia - Pam Poovey is ISIS's Human Resources Director. A gossipy pot smoker who is the brunt of many jokes regarding her weight. She serves as a foil for most of the members of the cast, often calling them out on their zany schemes. Though not a field agent, she is a trained drift car racer and bare knuckle fighter, with over a dozen kills under her belt (represented on her back, along with the third verse of Lord Byron's poem "The Destruction of Sennacherib” in tattoo form). Among her other interests are graffiti, directing amateur tentacle porn, and cock-fighting with siamese fighting fish.

She also bangs or tries to bang anyone who will stand still long enough, is sufficiently drunk or whacked out on medication, can be conned or threatened with disclosure.
