What's Up With The London bar?

Post by El Tel »

I usually take a break to Hua Hin once a month from Bangkok. The night usually involves the Beergarden in Binthabaht and then the London Bar for the live music.
Over the past few months the band has been changing quite frequently. 3 or 4 weeks ago, the resident band were replaced by a very good outfit playing classic rock. Their rendition of Alan Parsons Project's 'Eye In The Sky' was particularly good and the place was packed.
I returned last weekend and I was the only customer and the previous band had been replaced by a pretty boring blues band. I walked over to father Ted's and watched Lee Shamrock do his thing. Quite entertaining but not what I was looking for.
Anyone here with some inside knowledge on what's happening to the music at the London Bar?
I don't fancy having to hike all the way over to Soi 94 for El Toro Loco but that seems the best option for rock music now.

Is there anywhere else to listen to live music? You can always drink at home.

The old resident band of London Bar moved to Sugar Land which is located across from Panama Club. I used to be a fairly regular at London Bar but have to agree it's just not the same anymore.....

Cheers,
B.

It was a simple question, I don't have a police report, not even you, but only a Bangkok post news.
My intention was not to dishonour anybody, this has been done by CCTV pictures at the airport but I think that many HH residents would like to know the issue.

You got 'jumped on' because you were abusive and argumentative with the moderators. There is no need to keep sniping about it at every opportunity. Live with it, and move on.

In February when I was in town for the month London Bar was very busy most nights. I do not use the bar because it is very noisy and also very crowded. In February it was probably the most consistent bar in the number of customers it attracted.
If the music has now changed then maybe customers are now going elsewhere.
Is Sugarland the 'old' Panama or the luxury bar with settees etc opposite the Panama Bar extension, one thing it will be pretty loud music up that end of the Soi.
