Cocktail bars

Discussion on where to go when the sun goes down in Hua Hin; bars, pubs, clubs, karaoke and general nightlife.

Cocktail bars

Post by ahandpatsy »

Hello all

I wish to take my young lady for a special birthday cocktail.

I know of the Sky Bar at Hilton and East on 94 but somewhere different would be nice.

Any ideas chaps

Thanks

IMHO after travelling the world, East is one of the best when it comes to quality on the cocktails! Hilton, nice view but poor quality on the cocktails. I really don't know many other places in Hua Hin which serves great cocktails, but I would presume that the large and famous resort hotels may have good quality bar tenders serving decent cocktails. Marriott, Intercontinental, Hyatt etc. etc.

But expensive. I'm not sure these hotels' cocktails are any better than the cocktails you would buy in some of the 'upmarket bars'. But of course the ambiance is probably superior if boring!

I find there are many extremely nice bars and restaurants around Hua Hin center that do very good cocktails with good food and wine, just walk around for 1/2 hour they are all there, no better place :)

if you like pre-dinner cocktails (we do) and enjoy a beach side setting ...try the beach bar at the Centara or the beach bar at Marrakesh. Both do 2 for 1 on cocktails with happy hours around sunset.

I didn't like the Hilton rooftop bar at all, apart from the views.

I also liked the McFarland House at the Hyatt Regency, but they didn't have a 2 for 1, and the prices did make me eyes water a bit.

if you're looking fro something special, the Centara imo is a great bet, I'm sure your partner would love it.

On the subject of cocktails, I've noticed on my beach walks a poster for a "Cocktail Buffet" at a place called The Rock which I think is a hotel in Khao Takiap. I think it was something like 600bt for a couple of hours on a saturday evening.

Red Piano, the restaurant, has just reopened as ‘ACE’ after a refit and appears to be serving cocktails. It’s on Soi Kanjanomai, the small alley on the left as you’re walking towards the Hilton from the main road down to the Centara. I haven’t been yet but used to go to Red Piano a fair bit and found it to be always very good.
