It was a bar owner that said it to me, something about the King going into town. I am only on holiday so took him serious

I have been out and about today and there are a lot more police than normal.

Had the bar owner been served notice of this closure?

No idea, last night there was some VIP in la grappa and police had reserved spaces for 3 vans to park.

Bars closed Saturday & Sunday until midnight for election a bar owner has just informed me.

That's a real bummer good job my holiday finished last Monday two days no nightlife.

That is a bummer, anyone else confirm this to be true, or in fact how strict they will be on closing?

I remember the last (supposed) closure on the 14th feb was a half hearted affair, some closed, some open.

they are closed for elections, also next weekend as well, some will stay open for soft drinks to show football but thats it

It's a legal requirement not to sell alcohol during elections.

I dont get it, is there a re- election on this week -end? My wife informs me the court has decided to declare the recent election's result as invalid. SOme provinces could simply not arrange the elections as "the Mob" (wife calls them - allthough she is on their side) managed to interfere with the elctoral proccess, i.e the practical staging of it.As I understand it these are due to re-arrange the local election for an overall election which has been declared invalid by the High Court.

Now I am confused, are there elcetions in Hua Hin and why?

WTF. I'm in Hua Hin, it's trying to recover from a crap tourist season. There are quite a few foreigners around..... And no beer, wine or even a fecking cocktail! (plenty of cocks chasing tail though)

Thailand always tests your nerves! Between the weather, the political BS, and the double standards, it's been testing my nerve ends raw for years! Good that some others are learning this country's true nature. A lot of the people who live her have deluded themselves into thinking this is paradise.
