Hua Hin seems to be changing - for the worse

Tourists come here to have a good time, and if the ladyboys were offended, I'm sure they would have not been willing to take part. Tourists disgusted? Well now they know they need to avoid that part of town. As the saying goes, it takes two to tango, so I don't think one can only blame those tourists who were practicing their dance moves. Live and let live.

There's an elderly English chap who lives near us, and he moans and complains about everything. The locals play their music too loud (although they only put music on about once every six months); the tipper trucks mess sand in the road; the tipper trucks are too noisy; security guards shouldn't be eating when on duty, etc, etc, etc. In my opinion, it's people like him who are making the place worse. It's actually very simple.......if the place annoys you or disgusts you, just buy a plane ticket out of here and live a perfect life.

It's fine line between showing latitude and letting the piss be taken, many get it wrong through being selfish/egocentric or being inward looking a bit too much.

Many folks that come here are 'wrapped' way too tight for the place.

In the situation in discussion here....well, what are some folks expecting? :?

Reasonable complaint is OK imo but depends where, the hopelessly grumpy though will probably not be happy wherever they go, it's just that they are unfulfilled and regretful/unhappy or any number of negative emotions could be added here at this juncture of the post.

Complaining about entertainment 'hop-spots' is well....for lack of a better word......silly.

The elderly chap you mention Takiap is probably unhappy full stop/period, grumpy old gits are a dime a dozen everywhere in the world, and he would simply move elsewhere to be equally unhappy/grumpy wherever he graduated to from here.

Sometimes you have to just put it down to sad bastards.

Seems over the top considering alcohol over consume and not fully functional thoughts for the area.

As this thread has reared it's head again, as the OP, I thought I'd give a short update after my latest trip to HH, albeit a few months ago, in May.

As I mentioned in the original thread, my trip in February was the first time I'd been to HH in high season. I won't go again in high season, that's for sure, but I did go back in May with a couple of mates for 10 days.

We had a great time. It was quieter, but I prefer that. I live in East Anglia and it's like comparing Lowestoft with Great Yarmouth. Lowestoft is conservative and laid back yet everything you want is there. Great Yarmouth is teaming, full of "kiss me quick" hats, fish & chips and roller coasters. Each to his own, but I know which I prefer.

Seems like comparing Lowestoft and Great Yarmouth is the same as comparing Hua Hin in low season tgo Hua Hin in high season. Perhaps also similar to comparing Hua Hin and Pattaya - as some have said in this thread, perhaps the issues in HH have primarily been caused by the now better travel options between HH and Pattaya.

So we had a great time in Bintabaht and the kareoke area. No sign of any trouble, the girls everywhere were more friendly and welcoming, less stress all round. Great trip.

I'll certainly be coming back to Hua Hin - we're already organising next May's trip. But I certainly won't ever be there any time between November and February.
