It seems that an old British reporter is behind all of this....meaning he's the bulldog who never let things go. Pete

So Chuck Blazer has admitted to taking bribes for the 1998 and 2010 World Cups... also pleading guilty to tax evasion and taking kickbacks connected to five "Gold Cups". All part of a plea-bargain with the FBI in 2013..... PR!CK & no doubt he'll get away scot-free.

Stories abound over previous World Cups - what can be done? Nothing IMO. What can be done regarding Russia and Qatar (if corruption found in the decision making)?

Where now for FIFA? What's the odds on Platini taking the helm?

Not trying to put a damper on things, but I suspect his ill gotten odd million in the Swiss bank account has helped somewhat, rather than his looks or prowess in bed....

For involvement in previous corrupt decisions, a holiday behind bars.
For Russia and Qatar, an investigation resulting in one or both being moved elsewhere.

There are plenty of deserving countries able to accomodate a world cup at short notice.
Those that were in the running and made fair and transparent bids should be considered first.
Where now for FIFA? What's the odds on Platini taking the helm?
It's gonna be a long, painful process to rebuild the image.
Not sure about Platini though, seems the favourite would be Prince Ali, after all, he challenged Blatter in the recent vote and got a fair share of support.

It does need more football people involved.
There are countless big named ex players and coaches from all continents and nations that would jump at the chance of representing football, . . . . . first and foremost.

Hopefully, change now will be for the better.

He`s not gone yet. Still at his desk plotting his next move instead of attending European Cup final, and what chances of him going to Canada for the FIFA Womens World Cup. Too close to the USA I suspect. Sky News sent a reporter to his small hometown in Switzerland where everyone hails him as a hero who would never contemplate any wrongdoing. Maybe the rest of the world have just misunderstood the poor chap.

How to lose your job in one easy lesson...

Fifa: Sepp Blatter fires PR chief over joke on television

Fifa communications director Walter De Gregorio has been sacked after sealing his fate with a joke about the governing body on Swiss TV.

Gregorio told Swiss chat show Schawinski: "The Fifa president, secretary general and communications director are all travelling in a car. Who's driving? The police."

Fifa announced in a statement that De Gregorio had "relinquished his office".

But the BBC understands he was asked to leave by president Sepp Blatter.

Quote: "Fifa: Sepp Blatter fires PR chief over joke on television"

Had heard the furor and outcome over the joke (not a bad one at that  ), but how could Sepp Blatter have fired him - hasn't he quit?

And FIFA trying their hand in the film industry? No, seriously, not a joke - well at least for those who have any money invested with them (then again, I guess you can't invest in a registered charity)!

I just love the bit....

"According to The Hollywood Reporter, the FilmBar cinema in Phoenix reported takings of just $9, meaning only one person bought a ticket."...... Whaaaahahahahahahahahahahahahaha

Birds of a feather stick together...

Sepp Blatter deserves Nobel Prize, says Vladimir Putin

Fifa president Sepp Blatter deserves a Nobel Prize, says Russian president Vladimir Putin.

World football's governing body is engulfed in a corruption crisis, including an investigation into the award of the 2018 World Cup to Russia.

"People like Mr Blatter or the heads of big international sporting federations, or the Olympic Games, deserve special recognition," said Putin.

"If there is anyone who deserves the Nobel Prize, it's those people."
