RIP Dave Mackay - a great player and as tough as old boots.

Pity his breed have been officiated out of the game.

Huge respect for the man

But - he probably wouldn't get away with some of his antics these days............

Yes even the photo above would probably be a red card these days - I read elsewhere that George Best rated DM the hardest defender he came up against. Great professional and played at a time when men were men, not overpaid prima donnas.

Interesting article from the Telegraph about 'that photo'. Seems he hated it and felt it wrongly represented him as a bully. But the story behind it is amusing.
