Fernando Alonso could take a sabbatical from Formula 1 next year if McLaren remain uncompetitive, the team's chairman Ron Dennis says.

Alonso is contracted until the end of 2017, but McLaren struggled in their first year with engine partner Honda.

Dennis said: "I have an open mind. Some ideas have involved those sorts of considerations - sabbatical years."

Rosberg comes through again and wins the final race of the season, his third win in a row. Once again it seems the outcome hinged on tires and uncertainty on how long they would last. Hamilton had the fastest lap.

http://www.bbc.com/sport/formula1/34958463

bsdk1960 and Lindosfan had the best race, each with 20.5 points, but Superbru gave the win to bsdk1960 due to the type of points. The final podium positions are Lindosfan, redzonerocker and Pete. Big congratulatons to Lindosfan who won it pulling away, and who played wisely for much of the season and that strategy came through. :thumb: :thumb: :thumb:

1 - lindosfan 291.00
2 - redzonerocker 276.50
3 - Pete 275.50
4 - BigBoy 273.50
5 - mwbrown 271.50
6 - Vital Spark 271.50
7 ▲1 bsdk1960 (Yellow Cap) 267.00
8 ▲2 Parahandy 263.00
9 ▼2 pharvey 262.50
10 ▼1 Terry 257.00
11 - JJBones 98.00
12 - Richard 58.00
13 - buksida 20.50

That's it for yet another year. Happy Holidays to all! :thumb: Pete

Yes, very well done. Personally, I'm delighted with my highest ever finish, which for a F1 ignoramus is quite an achievement - my system didn't let me down :D .

Congrats Lindosfan on a well earned victory :thumb:

Many thanks to "Captain Pete" once again for organising and running an entertaining league.

I shall however be demanding a recount as there's no way I should have finished outside the top 1.....

Well done Lindosfan, Redzonerocker and Pete for finishing up on the podium. As the only girly in the league (and beating my husband), can I join you in the spraying of champagne ritual?

Thank you Pete for organising the whole thing.
