There'll always be wannabees/dreamers. In my day everybody wanted to be Charlton or Best. I guess somewhere in Scotland.....................

Big Boy wrote:Therein lies the problem. Even in a lower Division Southampton would be a much more attractive proposition. Only 2 hours to London. Plymouth maybe god's own country, but it's 2 hours from the nearest civilisation.

Combine that with a skin flint Chairman and an average manager, who is often absent.........................

Come on Big Boy, glass half full and all that! Things could be worse, you could be a Torquay United supporter.

Good luck to Plymouth Argyle tomorrow who play Wycombe Wanderers in the first leg of the play off semi finals to League 1.
The other match is Stevenage v Southend so its not out of the question that Plymouth could taste glory on the hallowed turf of Wembley later this month.....on paper,at least !

Yes, it's all coming together at the right time. Last week's performance at Shrewsbury was reported as the best of the season. Both semi-finals are assured huge crowds. Both semi-finals are live on Sky, but I don't think they are being shown on 365 Sport

What a ludicrous situation though. The loanees have to have their loans extended to cover the play-off periods, before returning to their home clubs.

Well, 3 goals down in 52 minutes  Not the start we needed.

The crowd really got behind their heroes, and the Green Army clawed the score back to 3 - 2. All set up for an exciting 2nd leg in a few days time.

The club have posted this on their website:

Those 2 goals in the last 5 minutes have thrown you a lifeline....its not over yet and away goals dont count double in the play offs !
And controversy over Wycombes second goal which shouldnt have stood because of handball !
Decent crowd as well....14,000+.....just shows the potential a successful Plymouth team would have.

Yes, even in the 4th division, they can produce excellent crowds when doing well. However, the fans soon drift away when results start turning sour. I must admit, at 3 - 0, I was wondering how many of the sell out crowd would actually travel.

Well, this morning's defeat means the dream is over for another year. The Green Army were diabolical, and barely in the match in the first half. I only saw them manage to string 3 passes together once. 3 substitution at half time saw some improvement, but a very on form rookie goalkeeper kept them at bay.

Wycombe were very good value for their place in the Wembley final.

Yes,a very poor first half performance and conceding 2 goals in the first 35 minutes put paid to your hopes.
Never mind,theres always next season....

There was a lot of pressure for John Sheridan to go, and reading between the lines, he walked before he was pushed. I think all Pilgrims should be grateful for the transformation he carried out for the club.

Let's hope we don't replace him with a numpty.

OMG, could my worst nightmare be about to happen, and Ian Holloway be returning to Home Park?

http://www.plymouthherald.co.uk/Ian-Hol ... story.html

The guy is such a liar, denial of interest, says to me he is definitely in the running.

Holloway hurt so many fans over what he said about fans (who worshiped him) when he left last time. I for one would no longer support Plymouth Argyle if the unthinkable happened. Move on to better himself - no problem. Opening his gob the way he did afterward was unforgivable - yes, the guy's a gob shite, and can't help himself, but what he said about Plymouth Argyle supporters really hurt, and can't be forgotten.
