First of all like to say Hi to all.
Myself & Fiancee just moved here from the concrete jungle of Bangkok where we lived for last few years together. Come together to Hua Hin a couple of years ago & to get away from the hustle & bustle of the fast paced Bangkok & love the Hua Hin atmosphere, beaches & local Thai people. Anyway we have found a nice house to rent out at the end of Soi#88. We hope to find either I nice house to buy or some land & build. we are also on the lookout for buying a couple of business's & setting up here. I am a Aussie & Fiancee is Thai. I work offshore Oil & Fiancee is a Hairdresser, so looking at setting up another shop or buying existing shop for her, we just sold our other 2 in Bangkok. We'll good to find some information I was after, so I am sure I will be popping in to get info from here
Cheers J & T

Re: Newly moved to Hua Hin
Social life in hh is built around bars, not too different from bkk. But drinking non alcoholic drinks is the choice of many bar regulars.
Re: Newly moved to Hua Hin
Understand not all are drinkers as we'll. Never been a real drinker, but not really into the sitting in bars either type scene. I prefer to get out for a ride on my motorbike with friends, BBQ's at the house around the pool type stuff or heading out sightseeing & discovering new places. I tend to live a very quiet life as my job has enough stress thrown onto me that I use my time off to chill out more than anything else. But I also would not mind meeting a few people for some social aspects as we'll.
