Went to the ear doctor opposite HH Hospital this evening with what I though was an infection.
Got both ears cleaned - she showed me the before and after images on the screen.
Said I just had a minor inflammation. Gave me ear drops and that was it.
850 baht in total and extremely professional.
Ear doctor/specialist
Re: Ear doctor/specialist
I went to the ENT clinic opposite Hua Hin General Hospital this evening
The young woman doctor was excellent, and as said previously, all modern equipment.
First an examination with a scope, then images taken an projected on a big screen TV.
Then some of infection removed with the suction pipe.... then more images taken.
The problem is Otitis media...an infection and swelling of the middle ear.
Prescribed antibiotics, strong pain killers and ear drops
Go back again in seven days
Cost 960 baht... money well spent, I wish I had gone 10 days ago!
Thanks everyone for you advice and information
Cheers paderborn

Re: Ear doctor/specialist
Very useful info. I have the same problem, ie blocked ear from swimming in the condo pool. I will try either the surgery mentioned in Soi 55/1 or the one opp the HH hospital and report back with prices and service, etc. Hope all goes well as it is very annoying having a droning noise in my left year and I want to watch the rugby tonight in some comfort, but will have to put up with that until tomorrow. Thanks again to the BMs for good advice.
Re: Ear doctor/specialist
As promised this is my experience...went to clinic opposite Hua Hin Hospital (near Makro). Went inside at about 1645, wrote name on list, 3 people before me. At a little after 1700 two ladies came in wearing hospital uniforms. One went into the consulting room, guess she was the doctor and the other manned the front desk. A short wait later I was seen by the attractive female doctor that someone else here has described, her english was excellent, vacumned both ears, 300bt each in and out in about 10mins.
Thanks for the previous info, can hear perfectly again, maybe a little too well.

Re: Ear doctor/specialist
My ears get blocked-up with crap..either from the ear-plugs I have in at work in the UK, or the ones I wear nightly here.
So then, took myself to the ENT clinic in Soi 55/1..
..(in the small/wide Soi off Nekbarhart Rd where there's many food stalls & tables each evening).
Went at 5pm..the man who meets+greets made me an appointment for 6.20..so went away to eat.
Back at 6.20, was sat in the Dr's office by 6.30, done in about 10/15 mins, both ears drained of black smeg,
500B total bill...job done..

Re: Ear doctor/specialist
Does anybody know where the Ear, Nose and Throat clinic opposite Hua Hin General Hospital has moved. I visited the place in the past and the lady doctor was always very effective and professional. I asked in the adjacent Eye clinic, but they could only tell me the ENT clinic was closed.
