Re: All about "Dentist in Hua Hin" Useful information.
My wife and I just had fillings done at Dazzling Smile Dental Clinic based on forum comments and closeness to home. This is the dentist between PTT and HH soi 6. I had two fillings 800 and 900 baht, my wife also had two fillings, both 1000 baht. Price based on time and materials (white 'plastic') I suppose. We'd had inspection and cleaning the previous week (900 baht each I think). Neither of us needed anaesthetic and were happy with the treatment. The dentist, Dr Saichol, speaks English. We'll go there next time.

hhinner, that sounds a little expensive. Mrs BB has been to Perfect Smile 3 times in the last couple of weeks. 2 out of 3 visits was she was in the chair about an hour (fortunately, there was complimentary coffee etc for me ).
The first visit was a lot of investigative work including several x-rays, followed by first aid treatment of an absess plus sending her away with medications, mouth wash, special tooth brushes etc. Cost < 600 Baht.
Visit 2 was just a normal scale and polish plus more x-rays (abour 30 mins) - cost 600 Baht.
Visit 3 was 6 fillings (including anesthetic for some) at 500 Baht each, but discounted to 2,400 Baht total.
The only reason we chose Perfect Smile was that they were the only dentist we tried, who were prepared to see Mrs BB within 24 hours.

BB, Well we were certainly satisfied with the work, and it was cheaper than where we used to go (BNH in Bkk), so I was quite happy. Now though,
Still, on the bright side I think it was cheaper than the prices quoted elsewhere for Bangkok Hospital Hua Hin.
Live and learn.
I think this thread is worth keeping up to date as it's always difficult (for me anyway) deciding on a dentist and it's nice to see other peoples' recent experiences (and prices).

I agree that it should be kept up to date. My wife was in a lot of pain, but we couldn't get her into the dentists recommended here. The concept of a nagging toothache didn't seem to register, and emergency appointments did not exist.

I have undergone several treatments at Bangkok Hospital.
It may not be the cheapest dental treatment available in Hua Hin,
but in Germany I have never experienced such thoroughness,
and the results (two crowns) were perfect.
The female dental surgeon's name is Dr Peeranuch Prayadsap.

I paid the equivalent of 1200 USD (7000 NOK) for a new crown in this country - by the looks of it the equivalent is 7000 Baht for a crown in HH. ( I think it says somewhere it's 12000 baht for 2)
One Day I'm gona die. I can live with that.

I'm sure what the service will be like, but I see they are now advertising dental work at HH Hospital. Would be interesting to know how their prices compare to the average private clinic

I'm sure the work will be to a good standard, but with the 30 Baht per visit scheme, the queues will be huge.
Experience with Mrs BB at Hua Hin Hospital tells me that an appointment refers to the time that you are called, and permitted to join the queue.

But they do have the 200 baht extra fast-track service - maybe that also applies for the dentistry dept.

Just got 2 teeth fractured in an accident. Will certainly need a lot of work. Would Bangkok Hospital be the place to go? Or are the better options?!
Re: All about "Dentist in Hua Hin" Useful information.
I've never used their dentistry dept., but experience tells me Bangkok Hospital will most likely be a more expensive option.

I really hope the travel insurance will cover it.Big Boy wrote:I've never used their dentistry dept., but experience tells me Bangkok Hospital will most likely be a more expensive option.

In that case I would go for it if you can get an appointment quickly. Be prepared to have to pay first and claim the fee back after your holiday.
