Larry, I'm impressed by you and the other farang deciphering the code! My spoken Thai is basic but passable but I can only just about read the alphabet and that is mainly by repetition of the Thai alphabet song - 'Gor er-ee gor gai etc.'

Maybe this new section on the forum is the kick up the arse I need to get back into the studying! I hope to be able to contribute in time......

Welcome to the forum Oe - - maybe a few of the wives & girlfriends will start using the forum now!

Not sure what happened with that first post Lev - I didn't know it was possible to reply as a guest. Usually the site asks me to sign in when I attempt to post a reply but not this time for some reason.

You may want to start a new thread with this one.

A kind of UK culture guide for Thais.

Fatty, the section is titled ¤Ø¡ѹÀÒÉÒä·Â, literally, 'Chat in Thai language'.

It is there to encourage those of us who are not native to Thailand to exercise our limited forays into a second or third language which is not our original language.

As I see in your post about learning Thai, you have recommended a good teacher, indicating that you are probably not Thai either. No need to get upset when we do post here, the section is not exclusive to the locals.

Stay cool. 8)
