Do you know if that has a meaning in the same way as Hua Hin does? Any idea of the pronounciation?

I think it's pronounced Hauhin. :P The Wiki link has it in Thai so give your better half a go at how it sounds. Mine's still cutting zzzz's. :D Pete

EDIT: Add content

It means "rows of rock". Great name for a new HH nightclub it you ask me.

She says it is pronounced Samur Liang, and means Same, Same. I'll look forward to other takes on that.

This is getting weird now. Look at the way Google translates it. Pete

The link went bad. Google says "sort anchor".

I put the Wiki English translation into Google and it came out not even close to what Wiki has in Thai. I think we may have stumbled onto a bogus or bad Wiki entry. Pete

Think it can mean "row of rocks" or "row of anchors":

สมอเรียง (s'mor rieng) means row of anchors, the original name for Hua Hin derived from the anchors of the fishing boats lined up on the beach. Hua Hin as we all know means 'head stone', there is another town of the same name down south near Koh Lanta.

On Wikipedia it could mean 'buttville' as anyone can edit their pages and write what they like! :neener:

That's why I always love it when people quote it as gospel in arguments.

Pattaya is to be renamed in the new year, so the name "Butt ville" is now taken.

Only joking.
I've lost my mind and I am making no effort to find it.
