I am a graduate student (city planning) studying retirment migration in Thailand. My study site is Udon Thani in the Northeast which has a healthy provincial population of around 6000 farang. I have yet to meet a retired female in town. I am very curious to see how Thai towns can make themselves more gender friendly in attracting foreign retirees.
I believe Hua Hin has quite a few females retired. Does anyone know how many females are retired there. Also are most married with other farang? Why did you choose Hua Hin versus another town in Thailand?
I will be down in Hua Hin this weekend and would love to meet up with some of you gals to discuss gender issues about retiring to Thailand.
