Do men say they are a man in their first post or is it just assumed?
Your tax is paid at the Tessabahn and anyone can to it providing they have your Chanute! It really is very easy and you do not need papers or anything signed off by accountants. How big is your house? I will check tomorrow and let you know how much is owed as I have all the paperwork just need size of house and if you have a swimming pool.

I stand by my original quote which was merely an observation that if one doesn't introduce oneself then people automatically assume one is male...a fact....not sure why that merited such a touchy reply in the first place!! Go patronise someone else... sweetheart...

Patronise is spelled with a z. People work hard on here to respond quickly and accurately to people's questions, as was done with yours. However, your second post in 5 years smacked HHTel because he used the word "his". Then, you extend that theme with the post before I smacked you.

You think you could have let HHTel's ''''word'''' go.....do ya!....and be happy with the helpful answers you were getting. No.....make a point of it and smack the people that are helping you. Good luck.

Stop it Moja, you know what I'm talking about....you've been on here for a long time. If it's not said, fine. Just don't throw into someone's face when and if it comes up.

I will lobby for a male/female emoticon.

What, because HHTel wrote 'his company'? English has gender specific third person pronouns. When the sex of the person being referred to is unknown, using the male gender pronoun is correct usage. An equally valid interpretation of his post and your response is HHTel assumed nothing, but you did.

......and to be perfectly honest, which has nothing to do with this thread, people will recognize today I am sick to death with blody conspiracy theories and people who belong to this forum for no other reason than to upset others.

ajfinknottle, you were here at the same time and that's unfortunate. I don't retract my comments about your comments....but I'll let it rest. Pete

Thanks moja - it's a detached 3 bed bungalow type house on a tippawan complex...no pool...how patronise is spelt depends on from where you hail...my original comment which has caused all this unnecessary angst wasn't aimed at one person - note I said forums- I merely stated an observation backed up by another female..it was said tongue in cheek but not intended to offend...I'm not a man hater or conspiracist or other such time waster...my aim was and is to sort out my property taxes and maybe make a few friends a long the way for when I can be there permanently..... ; )x

Hahahaha, what does that mean? I heard this used in the tv show Breaking Bad and laughed every time.

What kind of English is this?

Patronising phrase used to tell someone that you believe they hold too high an opinion of themselves, or are behaving in a conceited or pompous manner.
You wouldn't be seen dead in shorts? Please! Get over yourself!

Ok I get that, but the 'already'? Seems a very strange way of saying sort yourself out.

Anyway miles off topic...please carry on already.

Hi In answer to your question about back charges.
I seem to remember that all of the previous years were diferent as the basic rates charged were gradually increased.
We are currently paying 9,000 baht per year but this is considerably more than the early years.
Also we were fined 200 baht per year for late payment.
Our house is 3 bed with pool, and I beleive the pool content of the 9,000 is between 2 and 3 thousand.
Please excuse any grammar or spelling mistakes.

Cookie

What exactly is that tax for?

Property tax that you pay at the Tessabahn or company tax? Or both combined and where did you pay the company tax?

This is the Property Tax which is based on the size and facilities of the property and we were recently told that it is based on the possible rental income.

The Company tax we pay at the same time as we pay for our balance sheet via our accountant.

for a single storey property without a swimming pool it is 7500 if the building is up to 150 square metres and 9000 if it is over 150 square metres. The fine for being late in paying was 227 baht; I think but it is all in Thai!!! That was for four years. There is also 35 baht tax each year which I assume is what the locals would pay. So even if you waited until you returned next April to pay it would not cost you very much more.

Crazy 88 this is a property tax which you do not pay as your house is owned by a Thai; this is something that affects Farangs only and is nothing to do with business.
