Hot Chilli you surprise me. For starters, I will admit that I have not read through all the old posts, checking and logging what has been talked about in the past, perhaps I should when I get a few months to spare.
As you seem to be checking my history on this site you will have noticed that
I have raised two topics, being fish keeping outside and drinking water on a long term basis through canister type filters. Both topics proved to be good and interesting threads. You could have also checked that 90% of my 24 posts related to these two topics. On that basis I find it hard to believe that you could think that i am posting threads without thought to gain entry into the Night Crawlers section. I have now been on the site for 4 months, and that is just over 5 posts or comments a month, hardly an attempt to gain entry in to the above mentioned section.
Perhaps you should do your homework before jumping to conclusions.

Guess, you should cut these newer members some slack. I've seen a lot of complaints on here recently from you old timers, the "Hot Chili", "Legend" types against newbies bringing up old topics.

I think some of them were valid posts because when a new person comes on here one of the first things they do is read old threads and if they have some valid new information on the subject I don't see anything wrong with it.

I think what you don't like is flooding, just to run up your status but I've seen a few of the newer members accused of this when I just think they were trying to fit in.

I know you are the number one poster on this forum, but you and a few other of the "Legends" sometimes act like you own it (maybe you do :D ) and I think you should be careful of that.

I hope you don't want to discourage new members from joining or posting and that may happen.

I've personally pm'd a couple and given them gentle advice when I thought they were flooding a bit, but to try to embarrass them on the open forum should not be done imo.

By the way, Baan Kwai is a completely separate tourist beach town from Cha-Am. I'm not even sure if you can drive between the two without going back out to Petchkasem road.

That's right. There is no road directly connecting to Cha Am.

While I thank Guess and any other poster for their efforts to keep HHAD a troll and flooding free forum, it is probably best for it to be left to us mods to write anything on the forum about this, or as hhfarang suggests a polite PM if there is a chance that it is just an over enthusiastic new member. We have a special detector in the mod system to weed out most undesirables - we call him Lev... :thumb:

WL and hhfarang,

You are both right and my apologies to berks as it now seems by the reply I misjudged him.

I must point out though that although you (berks) say you have been posting on the forum 4 months it states you joined on September 17th 2008, just over one month before my time of writing.

The only thing I had a problem with is that the top 15, which the vast majority of us use (but not the mods for valid reasons), as a window in to the forum is shifted down 1. OK everybody has the right and previous mentions have just been made by me to point out to people that is what they are doing. I would not expect newcomers to know their way around from day one.

The top 10/15 has recently been modified to get rid of posts that the majority of people and mainly newcomers are not interested in and may actually be offputting.

In this case I made a mistake as to the poster's intentions but noticed that at least three posts appeared to be old out of date threads rekindled.

I appreciate, berks, that you have also made more valid posts and I was involved in one of them about drinking water.

What I can assure everybody is that my post has nothing to do with the status hot dog, chili, rocket fuel, legend or whatever but much more down to the fact that I am too lazy to trawl back looking for the thread I want to respond to as I will have probably already forgotten its title.

One last point is about handles. I would advise anybody to think carefully before selecting a handle to use. "berks" to me, despite the case being wrong means a short name for Berkshire and would have been obvious if it had been Berks.

Many readers would not know that and would think of something else completely.

Anyway, once again, apologies and no offense was intended and I was propping my eyelids up with mai kim fan at the time of posting

That's excellent news. When is the barbed wire fence going to be built?

Cha Am

Surely a detour via Pechkasem Road is a sufficient deterrant without a barbed wire fence to keep the Novotel guests away from Cha Am.

Sorry this one has been composed at the end of the day!.... PPS..... If berks was meant to represent the county of Berkshire I would have used a capital "B" ( as it is a Royal County)... But sorry you are wrong again..... My father called me that after seeing my 11+ school report!
