To Hua Hin and back again at night

Post by Sultry »

I'm situated in Cha'am. Now I've been told that public busses only go to Hua Hin 'til 6 pm and that they only go to Cha'am 'til 10 pm.
So if I were to stay out late (say, 1-2 am), how on earth do I get back?

I don't wanna spend insane amounts on taxi's. Any suggestions?

Get a cheap room and travel back in the morning, or kip on someones sofa! If you were to taxi back make sure you get a known driver, you know what some of these taxi drivers can be like if they see a girl who has had a few beers. If you need a good driver send me a pm and i can give you a number.

Hmm, the cheap room idea sounds like a decent plan.

BTW How can I get to Hua Hin after 6 pm? I often have to work 'til 7-8 pm on Fridays and Saturdays.

the gents that congregate under the clock tower adjacent to Starbucks operate the taxi service to Baan Kwai which is where the Regent, Novotel, Golden Sands, et al just 5km south of cha am. They drive the diesel powered trucks that will seat a family of six! All are pretty good guys. The going rate for many yrs was 300 baht roundtrip and then last year went up to 400. Earlier this year it was bumped again to 500........hey, the guys have to make a baht!

If you need some names or phone numbers of the drivers just let me know......I've a couple that pick me up on a regular basis...in baan kwai and at don maung....very reliable and honest

There are plenty of buses running through Cha-Am that stop in Huahin after 6 pm. There is a bus stop on the main road outside the bank.
