Orange bus to Cha-am

Post by Phil D »

Has anyone used the orange bus to travel from Hua Hin to Chaam? If so what is the cost, where do you pay? Where do you catch it in Chaam for return journey? Any other useful tips?

They go from Pectchasem Road just north of Chomsin Road. I think they leave every 20 minutes.
Basically, you can flag one down anywhere en route. They end up at Petchaburi.
I went on one recently to the other side of Cha-Am and it cost 30THB. Took an hour to get there but quicker, 40 mins, and 40 THB to get back. This was to The Premium Outlet so about 10 mins past Cha-Am.
I'm not sure of the schedule but I'd reckon the first bus will leave about 6am and the last no later than 6pm.

Thanks for the info. Did you pay the driver as for baht buses around Hua Hin? Pay at start or disembarkation?

It varies. Some take the money as you leave and others have a conductor who takes the money on the move. If you're at the back of the bus when you get on, move down to the front as you get close to your destination and tell the driver where you want to get off and ask what the fare is.

Direction to Phetchaburi they start on Phetkasem 7/11 opposide the ESSO gasstation when i remember right. After this point, just wave down, he will stop. To leave, ring or let him stop.

No pic, but its a old midsize bus, no aircon, open windows, and open doors. Its funny.
