Nightlife in Cha-am?

Post by david83 »

I´m moving to Cha-am, hopefully in the summer, and I´m wondering if there is any nightlife there?

Or do you have to go to Hua Hin for a night out at the bars?

Hi David,

There's 3 'beer bar' areas that I know of in Cha Am. They're not upto much to be honest, but all have ladies working in them.

Largest area, maybe 12-15 bars, is off Narathip Road (the main road down to Cha Am beach from Petchakasem Road).

Another area, maybe 10-12 bars, is at the bus station, off the beach road South of the town.

Another is a new area, maybe 8 bars, again just off the beach road, but more North of the town.

All in all me and mates find Cha Am a bit boring, but ok for a quiet'ish beer, game of pool etc.
25 minutes taxi ride to Hua Hin I'm afraid .......

Wait for IT.

NEWSFLASH

There is a new GO-GO bar opening in the Bus station soi.

It is on 3 levels with a pole coming through the ceiling from 3rd floor to 2nd floor.

The Aussie guy is spending quite a bit of money on it, looks really good and will also have a rooftop bar.

The good thing is that the Jungle drums cant be heard in hua hin, if you know what i mean, I will be there on opening night as a guest of course,

I must make sure i only do deliveries after 8pm to Cha-Am,

David,

Then of course you could always go a bit further north and watch the night herons in the paddy fields in moonlight beneath the swaying palm trees.

The advantage that herons have over BGs is that they do not pick up your phone and dial themselves just to capture your number and then pester you at inopportune moments.

I have had that happen twice after stopping of for a quick beer in Cha Am.

Guess,

Yeah that is always an option... No I don´t come there for the BGs but rather just want to get a general overview of the area... I have never been to a go-go bar so that would be fun though (unless you count the U.S and swedish stripclubs which from what I have heard is not really the same :? )
So, keep an eye on the phone... Check

Oh now I just realized I will have to get a new phone, damn american phones don´t have a SIM-card...

That's funny david83.
My first visit to a go-go bar was in San Francisco, apparently your home country.
Welcome and enjoy your life in Cha-Am, but come to Hua Hin for the fun.

The Prophet Frank Zappa led me to believe that Washington DC is the true home and originator of 'a-go-go.'

I hope he has not deceived me.

Or was it washington State? Can any Yanks elucidate?

They are finishing off at the moment, the owner thinks about two weeks.

Same guy has just started a paragliding company off the beach, really nice guy.

I will post when he opens, that whole soi really seems to be opening up as a bar area.

Why cant we have the same in Hua Hin, is it really due to the fact the King lives here??.

Didn't there used to be an apology for one in Inthira Plaza? That was some time ago and I'm not sure if it's still there.
I went in once on my own, was ripped off rotten for a Singha, had to put up with really disinterested bikini clad girls dancing on Mogadon and be very wary of the young Thai males who were lurking in the shadows.

Mike, I think that this is the new fire station. The pole is for them to slide down in an emergency. before leapong onto their Kawasaki 125CC fire tenders.
