Day Trip to Kaeng Krachan Dam & Lake

Post by Big Boy »

Never having been to this beauty spot before, we decided to take a trip up there a few days ago. We didn’t know where we were going, so set my SatNav to take us to the park HQ, which was 43 miles away, in a general Northerly direction. I assumed I would be going up the Bangkok Road towards Petchaburi, but no, it plotted a route towards Pala-U, and then take a right.

Have been a few times and that bridge is shall we say interesting when the water is high.

Yes, as you can see, the water is on the central planks in the photo.

I couldn't, it was roped off with steel wire about 1/3 of the way across.

Was like that last time we went but have crossed when the water was lower. The bridge swayed a lot as you crossed!

It swayed this time as well - hence many Thais bottled it :D
