New Construction just before Thai Watsadu

If you have travelled from HH towards Cha Am, you may have noticed a fairly large construction underway on the LHS just before you get to Thai Watsadu. I was hoping it could be for some new supermarket or such, but on asking at the land registry office next door to the new construction, they informed my wife it was some form of detention centre for juveniles - just what I didn't want to hear!!

I believe the signage says that the building will be a Court House, (but perhaps including a Detention Centre).

Ok thanks, we will need to see what transpires, but a Big C would have been much better!!

A COURTHOUSE?..They've just finished that monstrosity on Soi 88, & now they think HH needs another..??
Soon they'll be as many courthouses around HH as there are floating markets..

I guess being where it is, it comes under the jurisdiction of Cha Am Petchaburi, rather than HH Prachuab Kirikhan?

Having been past both the new courthouse on soi 88 and this construction in Cha Am in the last week, I'd say that the two provinces are having a "look at who's got the biggest courthouse" competition!
They both seem completely over the top, the Cha Am one now has these huge sweeping concrete ramps just to get vehicle traffic up to the second floor.
