Police suggest sudden death of Norwegian could be due to cold weather in Thailand

Police in Uttaradit told reporters that they think a Norwegian pensioner staying with a Thai woman might have died of the cold.

Arne Larsen, 68, was found in bed dressed only in his underpants.

His local Tha Pla girlfriend had popped out for a few hours to sell stuff at the local market.

When she returned home rigor mortis had already set in.

Mr Larsen's body has been sent for a full autopsy to Phitsanulok to find out why he died.

Tha Pla cops said that he had met a girl local to the area while in Pattaya and the two had kept in touch when he went back to Oslo.

When he returned to Thailand he could not find her in Pattaya and contacted her in Utaradit before travelling to meet her.

The local cops conjectured that Mr Larsen had died from the cold, reported ONB News.

Please change the heading. Hi did not die from cold, but from coronary heart disease. The attached death certificate was posted in a Thailand Group on Facebook where people that knew him were stunned by the "fantastic reporting-translation" in the infamous other thai forum online.

Lets not change the heading..This was reported as fact(yeahhhh) by another source other than the one you are alluding to.

How can someone else say otherwise is a fact when the death certificate states the actual cause? In the actual forum on Facebook, the DC was posted by someone who knew the deceased person and had spoken to his wife (who found him dead). I think that is more accurate than some other forum or erratic Google Translate article form some online news source. The DC is proof, what you are stating is nothing but your word. Please back it up with actual evidence. If not this will be nothing but speculation-rumors.

All of the articles on-line state "Police think..." The local cops conjectured...." "Police suggest..." These were responding patrol police who had to say something to the press, and what they said was not a conclusion by a medically trained person.

However, this is the forum section for News and I can't state that the man died as stated on the photo of a certificate copy until there is printed news confirming it.

Out of respect for the man, I'll amend the thread title to something more general.
