Yes, its time to get back on topic. Years ago this same thing happened on this forum and a human disaster resulted. Can't we just put our petty grumblings aside and stay on topic?

There already is one, and although it's not called F U, it's pretty close - FOO.
Seriously though (well, sort of seriously...), the forum would be bloody boring without a bit of bickering now and then. I love it. :neener:

Bickering is fine but nasty insults and character assassination are not. :tsk:

All charges dropped against Red Bull heir accused in death of police officer, Thai Police say

Bangkok, Thailand (CNN) Charges have been dropped against the heir to the Red Bull energy drink empire, Vorayuth Yoovidhya, related to the death of a Thai policeman in 2012, Thai police say.
Colonel Sampan Luangsajjakul of the Royal Thai Police told CNN "we were informed by Office of Attorney General about their final decision not to indict Mr. Vorayuth Yoovidhya on June 12. So we have proceeded to inform him (Yoovidhya) about the decision and the revocation of arrest warrant."

A letter sent to Yoovidhya at his home in Bangkok by Thonglor Police Station and seen by CNN says: "Office of the Attorney General have decided to acquit Mr. Vorayuth Yoovidhya on all charges." National Police Commissioner "has not objected the decision" and "we have proceeded to revoke arrest warrant." The document didn't elaborate.

Well that stinks to high heaven - but is anybody surprised? As the old saying goes, "There's one law for the rich and one for the poor."

Nobody's surprised I'm sure.
So in the end he was accountable for nothing. Stayed away until all other charges expired and now the more serious charges inexplicably dropped. Disgraceful!

From a 'red notice' to legal playboy with no consequences. And the policeman's family? If the policeman had survived, he'd probably be taken to task for 'being there'.

Meanwhile, Thaksin and his sister remain fugitives.

Total joke but the expected outcome. Can see things are getting back to normal then.

No doubt the family of the policeman have been paid a sizeable sum to ensure they make no objections.

It made worldwide news demonstrating how corrupt Thailand is. Seems like they can’t even be bothered anymore to come up with an excuse.

The power of the oligarchy and the support of the army. only solution: a Russian style revolution.

The family of the cop has been paid a large sum just after the accident.
Actually all charges has been dropped by the attorney general, he is now a rich man thanks to the large sum he received. Corruption, Corruption.

As usual ... they have been opaque on this one. It is a shame that none of these so called journalists can come up with something like who actually made the decision and asked him why or for comment. All we get is some vague announcement from what seems like peons of the system who have been instructed to make a statement and hopefully it all goes away as the news cycle is so short now and the sheeple have the memory of a goldfish.

That large sum was just 3 million baht!
The Attorney General says that all charges have been dropped as the victim's family have already been compensated and other charges were dropped after passing the statute of limitations. Unbelievable.

Seems to have hit the majority of the world's news media. I'm not sure this will just go away.

May I suggest that you are being a tad naive.

It has gone away - as far as the Thai establishment are concerned.

You're probably right. Just a little wishful thinking on my part.
