capture of wild animals

Post by lindosfan1 »

I do not know the history behind this animal (it is not a thing)
Is it locked up in a cage on its own. If so why?
Why has that person got a wild animal locked up?
It looks healthy but is it well cared for?
Any reason why it cannot be released back into the wild?
The care of this animal needs looking into is it illegally owned?
There is a law I believe on the keeping of wild animals is that being broken.
What you should be doing crazy 88 is looking at the legality of what that animal is suffering.
Woke up this morning breathing that's a good start to the day.

its probably because:

1) It looks more like a small breed of baboon than a monkey.....baboons are not to be played with. They are clever and very very aggressive. The ancient Egyptian "police" used them as attack "dogs" for several thousand years.

2) That cage looks well tiny - hell Id be pissed off too.

It's hard to see how big the cage is. If it is dangerous then it's probably locked up to protect you and me.

There's one chained up at Prachuab Khirikan and if you go anywhere near it you'll understand why.

The monkeys at Khao Yoi have attacked several people so you really have to be careful of these sweet creatures.

It looks like a Hamadryas baboon from North Africa.
If so it is a long way from home.

Where is it? There's every possibility that it is being kept illegally & should be reported & rescued.
When are idiots ever going to understand that wild animals do not make good pets? Neither do they make good entertainment in bars, nor good photo opportunities whilst being trekked round bars.

Apes/monkeys are often very biddable until they reach puberty & then become 'uncontrollable'. As far as I'm concerned, no-one has the right to 'own' a wild animal - especially not if they confine it in a small cage.

It is on its own, seems well fed and healthy .The elderly Thai woman in traditional dress outside her shack kept saying "ling baa, ling baa" when I was walking towards the cage .She was right .There is a much larger, empty cage next to it .Communication with either the woman or the monkey was impossible .

BTW Randy ,what are you doing chatting up my ex-wife ?

Crazy88, I've always regarded you as a sane, OK person, despite not knowing you. This monkey has serious problems & could end up hurting someone due to his frustration. This isn't funny. It's dangerous for the monkey & his owner. I know where he could find a good home in a sanctuary. Please help him (& his owner).

Dawn

I can show you where the monkey is any time you like apart from tomorrow morning as I will be out of town .Afternoon is ok .I came across it whilst waiting to meet somebody at the top end of the street you live in .Call me on 0847 177 205 .Happy to pick you up and drop you off .I would imagine the woman I met ,if she is the owner , would be happy to see the monkey re-homed .Can't see it picking coconuts anytime soon .We have met at the vets on the klong road previously BTW .

I reckon you're right judging by the hair style. (BTW Liindosfdan1, baboons are monkeys).

These were on of the first to be domesticated by the early Egyptians maybe as long as 10,000 years ago.

Dawn is right of course. No individual is allowed to keep a wild animal. It is not the same species as the domesticated monkeys so can not be put out into a feral colony. It would eventually be killed after doing vast amounts of damage to the troop.

Also it seems that is is completely insane so needs special care.

This animal's location needs to be reported directly to the correct authorities.

I think you will find it is a mammal Sarge. I have spent a bit of time in Iceland and I don't recall seeing one of those flying overhead.

Does it breath fire as well.
